so I recently moved schools and my current school does not have a integrated math system, which my previous did.The last school i attended I had got a D in my IM2 class sophomore year. I was going through a lot that year and it reflected heavily on my math grade. Now this year I am in a much better place and I have an A in algebra 2. My question is if I had got a D in my math class from my last school but I am not retaking because they have a different math system at my new school, would that prevent me from attending a csu.
and would it also prevent me from attending a uc

Getting a D in IM2 can be validated by passing a higher level of Math namely Algebra 2/Pre-Calc or Calc so you should be fine in meeting the a-g course requirements for the CSU’s and UC’s.
-
If you are unable to repeat IM2, your D will be included in your CSU/UC GPA which only uses 10-11th grades in their GPA calculation which would impact your GPA.

If you are able to find a school that offers IM2 over the summer, you might want to retake to replace that D.
Yes, you will be able to get into a CSU and even a UC even with the D, but you will probably not be competitive for the top UC’s or CSU’s unless you are able to repeat the D. I would check with your counselor to see what options you may have to repeat the course such as taking Geometry at your current school?
Best of luck and keep up the good work.
