http://www.sjsu.edu/admissions/impaction/impactionresultsfreshmen/ lists recent frosh admission thresholds for SJSU. The numbers are the CSU eligibility index = GPA * 800 + SATRW + SATM, where GPA is recalculated by the UC/CSU method. Thresholds may change each year.
Many UCs should have a reasonable chance of admission if you have a 3.98 unweighted GPA in hard courses and write good application essays.
you will be a competitive applicant for most of the CS programs at CA college - but, apply broadly because there’s lots of subjectivity at the more competitive schools. You should apply to UCB and LA if you want to go there… just be sure to also apply to SDSU, UCSC, SJSU, etc so you have several options.
good luck
Some good safety schools:
RPI
RIT
WPI
Stevens Institute of Technology
Cal Poly SLO (not really a safety anymore though)
Santa Clara University
SJSU
UCSC
UCR
UCM
SDSU
Some good match/low reach schools:
UCD
UCSB
UCSD
UCI
GaTech (they’ve become more competitive each year though)
Purdue
UMD
Largely agree with above list, BUT do not apply to any CS program where you cannot show a little love. They may not appreciate it. Do your homework on each university you apply to. Whereever you go, you do not want to be disappointed.
