So right now I'm in my first year and semester of community college and right now I'm not doing so hot in physics. I never took physics when I was in high school since I tried to avoid it but then I decided I should take it in college cuz I felt that i was ""missing"" out. Anyways I have a 72% in that class, and I can pretty much feel that I'm going to fail because Im doing pretty bad. I want to ideally stay in the C range since I think it's really hard for me to go any higher than that, but if I fail that class will it ruin me? I plan to major in finance and transfer to UCI, and if I dont get it I plan to got SJSU. I dont know i'm just really stumped by this right now. If i do fail and retake it will it look really bad?

If it’s not too late, you can drop it with a W and it won’t count into your GPA. If you can’t and do end up failing, I believe retaking it looks much better than not. Talking to a counselor would help you, since they can give advice for transferring (you’re at a California CC I’m assuming?). If you can keep your GPA high enough to TAG into UCI (or SJSU if your CC has CSU TAGs) that one class won’t matter.

However, if you do have to stay in it, the semester isn’t over and you can bring your grade up! Figuring out where you struggle (the math? concepts? application?) will help you now. You can approach your teacher, see if there’s tutoring, work with other students, or look online (khanacademy can help with the concepts).
