Will my admission be revoked?

hey all, I was accepted to UCI early march and unfortunately last semester I ended up failing Calculus and decided to drop it spring semester in hopes of retaking the course as an undergraduate at UCI. My school offers calculus as an actual college class through CSUF (no AP test required for college credit, just have to pass) I was wondering since it isn't a required class or associated with my high school (we get out grades through CSUF, no marks on our HS transcript) will this affect my admission decision?

edit btw my last semester GPA was 3.25 weighted

oyah >_< the math class is called math 150a and math 151a at cal state fullerton

omg would someone offer me some solace already?!

If you are already accepted, unless they say something about it, i don't think its going to affect anything

hmm even though calculus (math150a) doesn't affect my official high school transcript, can uci still weigh its grade into my senior year?

You'll probably be fine since it isn't on your official transcript.

UCs require that applicants take three years of math. If you have exceeded this amount (minus the Calculus course), you are safe.

This is something you need to check with your GC. The UC application booklet states under Update Your Records: "If there are changes to the information you provide on the Self-Reported Academic Record after you submit your application, notify in writing the Admissions Office..." so if you reported this class as in progress and planned on your app and didn't report the change in status to UC when you dropped it, you should talk to your GC about what to do. I don't mean to alarm you, this will most likely turn out just fine, since you've taken enough math, but you should check with your GC to be sure.

thanks guys for the replies, yes i've taken 3 years of math (not including calc) and i've notified UCI on behalf of my schedule plans. hope they don't flay me too much on the subject... :)

I have a similar worry about my admission to Penn.

Through my last three semesters of English, I have an 80%, 86%, and 87%. This semester, I'm looking probably at a 78-83%. It would be my only C at all on my transcript, and all my other marks this semester will be in the high 80s-90s (like before). There's no way that one high 70 (which will still be above the class average) will hurt me, right?

Doubtful. The admissions dept. must realize that this IS the last quarter of senior year, and one poor grade isn't going to hurt when you've a lot of other solid grades.

There was an applicant who was accepted to a UC (forgot the campus), but became doubtful of his acceptance status when he received a D in his AP Biology class. He talked to the director of admissions at the campus and he didn't have to worry about getting revoked because he had already exceeded the requirement.

I think you'll be fine. Of course, I could be wrong, so you definitely want to check with your GC.

If you put the class on your application and drop it, you have to tell the colleges. I was close to getting a D in AP Calculus first semester but pull it out with a C instead. However, I contacted UCI just in case and they said that if I get a D or F, it is highly possible that my application may get rescinded because I'm "not the person they accepted" before I submitted my senior year grades. I dont know if this helps.

hey can you guys help me? I was also accepted to UCI but I ended up dropping AP Art History because I needed to take Health, and I planned on getting a job. Are these excuses good enough?

WoW4201: If you drop an AP class or any class without telling UCI or any UC, they can consider revoking your application (it's in the condition of admissions). You have to notify them immediately after you drop it. Hope this helps.

WoW--
I dropped a couple of AP classes this semester and reported it to UCSD...the admissions people replied that they updated my info...but beyond that, my acceptance was not changed. Just make sure to report it to them immediately.
