Hello,
I applied ED to a selective school and I think i did really bad in my AP classes this 1st quarter of my senior year. My GPA until now was a 3.7 (unweighted) and I think I’ll get B/B-'s for my AP classes. My counselor told me that senior grades are “very very important” because “they are the best way to predict my academic performance in college.” I am so depressed these days because I feel I’m going to get rejected because of these horrendous senior 1st quarter grades and I keep getting rejection letters in my everyday dream!!
Will these grades affect my admission a lot? Recently, I’ve been thinking of sending the college a note explaining the reasons for the drop in my grades. In my note, I was planning to write how I’m experiencing the transition from high school to college in my numerous AP classes and how my grades improved from the beginning of the quarter to the end of the quarter and that I can do better next quarter since I’m getting used to AP classes and because I have no sports in the winter.
Will these grades affect my admission a lot?
Any response is appreciated. Thank you.
P.S. I’ve been taking rigorous courses in the context of my high school so far.
