Will Swarthmore Send Email ED Notifications?

The Swarthmore admissions website is mute on this subject, and I was wondering if anyone knows what is planned?

In the past (2003), ED notifications via email were sent only to international students. Everyone else had to wait for snail mail.

Just call up and ask, you don't need to give your name unless they ask, its a 2 sec. conversation.

I called, and no email notifications will be sent

Thanks for the info.

I was wondering too; thanks.

I'm already getting worried...I don't want to wait for the mail! Haha.

anyone know when they're actually mailing decisions out?
i live about 20 minutes away so hopefully it'll get to me ASAP :)

I'm tempted to ask them not to mail mine...if my sister could just pick it up at their office it would be so much simpler...but I dunno, maybe that would be slightly sketchy. :-P

I'm not sure what day they actually mail the decisions, but I know that last year the majority of applicants actually recieved them on the 14th, though plenty on the 15th as well. So, probably mailed on the 12th at the latest?

I doubt they'd let your sister pick up your letter for you, but I guess it's worth asking.

Yeah, I doubt they'll let you pick it up...it would be really nice, since I only live like 40 minutes away, but they don't want any freak-outs in the office if the answer is not the best, I'm sure.

The majority got the on the 14th? Do you know if they send acceptances earlier than the rejections/deferrals? Some schools do that, apparently.

I highly doubt that they will let you pick up the letter, but I guess it's worth calling them to ask. I only doubt it for the same reason as Forgetmenots. They'd probably be afraid of massive hysteria attacks and an emotional breakdown. My friend told me that Yale will only tell kids their decision far after the mailing date on the telephone because they're afraid of being screamed at and cursed.

Avoid temptation; good things come to those who wait.
