Hi, I'm a High School Senior and got accepted to UCI, but recently in my ummm first quarter of the second semester in my school i got a D in my AP Calculus BC Class, mind you it's "technically" my fifth year of Math, and i am EXTREMELY worried that they will revoke my admission,, please help? thanks

Quarter grades don’t count, but you probably will need to bring it up to a C by the end of the semester. I’d call them.

um… its quarter grades so as long as they don’t show up in the transcript you SHOULD be fine.
check with others

would they revoke you if you kind of put down the wrong thing on your application for extra circ.

Like I put varsity tennis captain, which I didnt get this year : (

Nahhh, probably not, darksss.

I wouldn’t worry about misreporting info too much, but read this…

[UC wants the truth on student applications - Los Angeles Times](Applying to UC? Don't fib)

Dude, that article is hella scary
■■■, if I get rejected because of this.
Like, they probably only do that before they admit you? And like a random sample of people, im assuming a SRS are chosen. crap, I’m a little scared

Yes I believe they only do it before admission letters. But I always heard it was 10% of applications that are audited…

So they probably won’t check my application again?

well i have a 4x4 schedule so it does show up in my final transcript but this is a class i don’t really even need but they put me in there due to schedule problems… so… idk… i’m really stressing right now… will they most likely revoke it?

A UCI student told me they look at these kind of cases individually. One kid there got 2 D’s his senior year (semester, not quarter) but was still admitted while other ppl who got D’s got their admission revoked.

My friend had a situation like yours; she was in a math class she didn’t need and was failing so she did Pass-Fail and passed with a D first semester and was admitted into UCSB.

Since it is case-by-case, I would call them up and explain your situation or if you are going to UCI anytime soon, meet with them in person. I don’t wan to give you false info and say you can or can’t get in.

Otherwise try to raise that grade by studying your ass off, getting help from the teacher and showing you care, etc. Good luck! I was in your situation a few days ago but managed to inch up to a C.

it is better to tell them if you do end up getting a D because then you have a chance to retake it during summer in a community college so you can make it up maybe?

the fact that its one of the hardest classes for high school students (physics c likely being another) will mean they are probably more generous. unless ur engineering or something.
