Will UC__ rescind my admission?

Did you guys talk to UCLA before changing your schedule or did you just submit your changes through the application website?

I contacted a UCLA admissions counselor, but wasn’t told much other than how to make the changes. I think they’re annoyed because of all the students calling about their rejections, anxiety, personal problems, and their over zealous desire to add fall classes.

@credulitykills‌ i spoke with a UCLA rep about it

@sonic23 What did your UCLA rep have to say about dropping non-prereq courses?

That i ((should))be fine as long as i have completed all pre reqs and still have at least 60 units.

Major: English
UC GPA:3.61
Major GPA: 4.0
Major Pre-reqs: Done
Tag:no
IGETC: Yes

Will UCLA rescind my acceptance for not reporting three non-transferable math courses on my application? I emailed UCLA to inform them of my error, but I have yet to receive a response.

@infinityontrial‌

That’s a tough one to answer. On one hand, the courses don’t count, but on the other, it appears you failed to notify them of all the grades you’ve received in a college institution. This may seem like you’re trying to hide something, but since you notified them before you sent them transcripts, I think you’ll be fine.

@sonic23 I got into UCD, UCSD, and UCLA–UCLA is the one that I’m really waiting on. I sent in my changes on Friday but obviously haven’t heard back yet (from any of the campuses, actually).

I had already dropped my class before I notified them–my drop deadline was before admissions came out :(

Does anyone know the details about the UCLA Admissions Contract? Mine basically just says “maintain academic performance”, no grade or unit requirements… Am I missing a link somewhere?

@Tzeros UCSD seemed to not care as long as you dont fall below 60 units

@tzeros‌

UCLA doesn’t entertain hypothetical scenarios according to one user on here so, by officially dropping a course, you’ll be able to get a more definitive answer from them.

@DescartesQ‌

That’s what most people get and it’s pretty vague, I know. They do state that you must report to them any drop in academic performance(Getting 2+ C grades, or any D’s and F’s).

And of course, notify them if you drop/add a class.

@DescartesQ‌

It seems to differ for each user, but most of us don’t think UCLA is being literal when they are asking us to maintain our GPA’s.

If a 4.0 student gets a B, they will have their admission decision rescinded if UCLA was being literal so, most of us think it’s ok to get 1 or 2 B’s.

Well, I’ll call UCLA tomorrow and talk to them before making anything official. I also switched a course over a month before admissions came out. I actually switched from a programming course that didn’t satisfy a requirement, to one that did. So I doubt that’s a problem. But, I never got an email back so I want to make sure they noted that change before I send transcripts.

Does anyone here know if I can take the maximum of 9 semester units this Summer 2014 if I will have 68 units of UC transferable credit by the end of Spring 2014 before I transfer? The 9 units will not be used to satisfy any pre-req’s.

9 units at a UC or CC? I don’t think it matters how many classes you take at the CC level. You’d only be able to transfer 70.

I’m not sure what the maximum amount of units a new transfer student can take at a UC this summer, but I was planning on taking 10.

9 units from a CC. I think I read from the UC website that people with “excess units” of 70 units won’t be admitted or something (but will this affect me since I’m already admitted?)

@hairlesscow‌

No, if you have 70+ units, only 70 of them will be used towards graduation requirements. It shouldn’t harm one’s chances of being admitted.

For the excess units, you will get “subject credit” for them. Let’s say you have 70 units already and decide to take Chem 1 for the summer. You won’t be able to transfer those extra units you earned, but you will be able to take Chem 2 at UC__.

Oh I see thanks for the responses
