Will UC__ rescind my admission?

So if you take Chem 1 at cc , can you still take Chem 1 at UC? (Just curious)

UCLA has now replaced my notice of admission with a note saying that they’re reviewing my records in light of the changes and will get back to me once everything is reviewed. I have no idea how long this is going to take and it’s making me anxious to the pit of my stomach. :|

@tzeros‌ I have the same as well. They say the review takes about 2-3 weeks.

I called UCLA admissions. The woman I spoke to said that in some cases it may take the full fifteen business days, but she said that most of the time they get changes out a lot sooner. So I guess it’s time to wait!

i got in to ucla buz econ major and i got the c+ of cal II in this winter quarter, just notified them two days ago, now the decision letter page change to “We received your recent communication regarding changes to your academic information and are currently reviewing your record. Upon completion, we will contact you to inform you of any status changes.” are you guys same? @tzeros‌ @snowbosan9‌

@evanwong I have the same message after reporting three non-transferable math courses I failed to list on my application.

@evanwong Yeah, that’s the same message I have.

I have the same message now :frowning:
Hope we all hear back good news soon!

I am attending a community college and I currently have about a 3.0 GPA. I was waitlisted for UC Davis. I am taking seventeen units this semester. Of those seventeen, five are from second semester Calculus. I’ll most likely be getting a C in the class. Should I drop it to avoid the dip in GPA or will it not matter for the waitlist admissions selection process?

What exactly do you have to send UCLA to notify them of the classes. I heard from a ucla rep when I called them earlier that I just needed to write the courses in the additional comments section and an explanation so that when they review the transcripts and UC application, they’ll understand the discrepancy.

@chaoscuber‌ It’s in the Academic Changes section when you log on to the results site.

I got admitted to UCLA as neuroscience major. I’m currently taking biology and calculus 2 at Citrus College, organic chemistry 1 at LA City College this semester. I’m doing good in biology and calculus 2 so far at Citrus College. However, I am not doing good in organic chemistry at LA City College. I am having a C in this class so far. I am thinking about dropping organic chemistry and retaking it in summer. I am worried that the dropping of this class would result in a cancellation of my acceptance because this is one of the major courses?

I knew that organic chemistry 1 was a major prerequisite of my major, but my college (Citrus College) doesn’t offer it in Spring semester and only offers it in Fall semester. Therefore, I am taking this class at LA City College.

I am an undocumented student who had a five year break after graduating high school because undocumented students were not allow to go to college in Nevada. This semester is a tough semester to me since I go to two different schools, and LA City College is far from where I live. I have to take bus there, and it takes me two hours to get there and get home with traffic. Moreover, I’m worried about my grandmother because she is in hospital right now. My grandmother is an important person in my life who took care of me when I was younger. Because I am undocumented, I cannot go to my home country to visit her. I have not seen her for over nine years.

All these factors may have affected my performance on this class.

I am currently having a 4.0 GPA on everything. I don’t know if I should drop organic chemistry and focus on other two classes. On the other hand, organic chemistry is an important class that might affect my acceptance to grad school.

@awevicsum‌ If you think you can pull a C, don’t drop. One ‘C’ won’t hurt you and is preferable to dropping if it’s a major course. If you think these factors like family illness may put you closer to failing then consider dropping and name the reason for doing so. Good luck!

Questions,

I received a specific provision of admissions for my major. The minimum requirement GPA was 2.60. However, I got 2.61 GPA as of now. What happen if my spring grades drop my overall GPA below 2.60. Do I still have a summer to bring my GPA up?

Thanks.

@bjt223‌

It should say “by the end of spring” or something along those lines in the provision, but if not, I’d message/call the admissions help desk.

@hairlesscow‌

That’s a very good question for a CC/UC counselor.

I got the same message as @‌tzeros

We received your recent communication regarding changes to your academic information and are currently reviewing your record. Upon completion, we will contact you to inform you of any status changes.
UCLA Undergraduate Admission

Did anyone submit changes to their coursework before getting accepted to UCLA? I notified them of my changes about 2 weeks before decisions were release and I was still accepted. A UCLA rep told me I would not have to make notification of any academic change updates again, so I will take their word for it. Sort of glad that I submitted my changes earlier so that I’m not having to go through this review process again.

I just recieved an email that my admission status did NOT change due to me dropping my class. I submitted my change friday. Hope you guys hear back soon!!

@sonic23‌ Congrats! I might get mine next week if the process keeps its pace.
