Winter 2012- Transfers Accepted/Denied/Pending?

Madrona10: Not to be a creep but I was looking at people’s profiles on here out of curiosity and found out a lot of people were NOT teenagers or in their early 20s (I’m 24 btw). I’ve read that the average age for transfer students are 23 as well.

It also doesn’t specifiy Bothel or Tacoma, but I only applied to Seattle…

@Hopefulstudent4, I got rejected for Fall but got accepted for Winter.
There really is no sign for those who get rejected.
For me, I knew I was rejected because the letter came from the last batches
of letter.

Last year there was a woman who didn’t get the mail until the very very end (weeks after many people knew) and her transcript never loaded until the same afternoon or next day. So no there’s really no way to know

Only the letter will tell. Keep your hopes high everyone!

Gotcha, thanks everyone for the responses and congrats to those who got in!

Hi Everyone!
My unofficial transcript loaded earlier today around 4! To those of you still waiting, keep checking! Good luck and congratulations to all of you who have already had theirs loaded!
Ps. I think it’s alphabetical. I’m not sure so don’t quote me, but my last name starts with a “B” so keep holding on if you are near the end of the line!

I’im 27, so that might put me in a different place than many of you… (i’m old)

TRVLGRL: When did you see anything about FinAid? That still says no aid - sure it will load if the credits do…

haha I’m 33, so in my eyes your still a spring chicken
You will feel both young and old when you attend the UW. Alot of kids of course 18-21, but in every one of my classes there is at least 1-2 people in their 50’s!! and a handful of people in their 30’s and some more in mid-late 20’s.

Financial aid showed up before the credits do. (At least for me). Pretty quickly actually…I feel like it was a week or so after acceptance. Different departments handle financial aid vs loading transcripts. I guess it takes them more work to load in your credits then figure out your aid (or staffing issue).

I don’t think my credits loaded until the day before my actual orientation date (And I remember them telling us to be ready to bring a copy of our transcripts with us to orientation if it hadn’t loaded by then.)

Also as far as my stats go:
Transfer from Oly
GPA: 3.5
Age: 21
credits: 90
My unofficial has me listed as a junior and I am pre social science majoring in communications

Thanks, Travelgirl! I knew you catch my drift! ;o)

My last name starts with an R, so it is probably not alphabetical.

Is it possible that even though our transcripts loaded, we could be waitlisted…

I’ve been waitlisted before (for my freshman application) and I most definitely did NOT have my unofficial transcript loaded. You’re probably in, so you can relax until your letter comes!

Today is my bday and my unofficial transxript just got uploaded
my stat
3.7 gpa
80 credits
transfer from grcc
gud luck to alls :’)

Just uploaded as in tonight–not the afternoon?

Congrats!

My unofficial transcript no longer says uw tacoma, instead it says arts and sciences, also under major it says pre health sciences(I choose microbio as my major, but didn’t apply for it yet). Anyone think that when it says arts and sciences, that it refers to uw tacomas’ or seattles’?

When do transfers get to register for Winter Quarter?

NYC2014: After your orientation

Travelgirl: Will information about the orientation be included in the packet? Like the date etc? Also, should we start scheduling for the measles shots?
I’m kinda freaking out because I have to write a 10 page paper by 7th and do UW stuff at the same time.

schan: Not really. After they receive the deposit confirming your intention to go with UW, you will be directed to a website where they will give you a choice of dates to pick from. (The site didn’t work for me right away…it was a day or two after confirming payment before it actually worked.)

If you haven’t already had your measles shot (or lost your proof of one like I did)…get it taken care of right away.

If you haven’t had one ever…it takes two rounds to complete with time waiting (at least 4 weeks!) between the two shots. Then once complete the hall health nurses are allowed a few weeks to process it. I would do this NOW.

I lost my proof, the Monday after I got my acceptance letter…i went to a hospital to have my blood drawn, it took a week for the lab results to come back. and again the hall health nurses are allowed a few weeks to process it.

They will not let you register for classes until this is completed. They don’t want you to go to your orientation w/out having this completed either.

here is the verification form:
https://depts.washington.edu/chsweb/files/Measles.pdf

here are all the steps:
[UW Measles Requirement](http://depts.washington.edu/hhpccweb/article-detail.php?ArticleID=584&ClinicID=14)

Thank you very much!! I have to have 2 proofs right? I only have one from when I applied for the green card… So would you recommend I get it done, say, next week though I haven’t received the letter yet?
