Hello guys/gals,
A brief reminder, UW Winter Orientations start around December 12th - 16th and you MUST attend one of these. If you have not heard back before then, they have f**ked up or you were rejected. Either way, expect a decision shortly as they must go out before the orientations start.
P.S. This isn’t a live-journal forum. The less you comment on here, the less you will think about it, the quicker time will fly.
@SowellKnowsBest Their orientation starts at December 16, 19, 20, 21, and 28. We all still have time. (It’s on their Winter Admits page)
@Girlygirl256 I know Seattle is a big city. I am a Washington state resident. However, it is one of the most expensive cities in the United States to live in. Especially if you want to be close to campus. A one room apartment can run you $1,000+ a month plus utilities, books, food, cell phone bill, etc. Some places come with them but it is not cheap. Oh not to mention some of the apartments aren’t furnished so money will have to go to that also. So unless you saved up, have parents that will send you money, or have a job it will be pretty pricey. I know my parents can’t help me out all the time so I will be looking for a roommate most likely if I get in.
OMG OMG MY UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT LOADED!!!
@peao1996 Thank you since my transcript loaded does that mean I got in? Like it is a for sure thing?
@Aharris1105 check the application again and see if it updated to a congratulatory message
@peao1996 that didn’t change but I have a transcript.
well just wait for it to update, it probably isn’t simultaneous, but i’m pretty sure it’s a good sign!
@Aharris1105 CONGRATULATIONS!!! I’m so happy for you. I’ll be looking for a roommates too if I can’t get on campus housing
What sort of envelope will the transfer acceptance letters come in? Will ours be the ‘Big’ envelope in gold? And rejections come in white?
Friends of mine who were admitted as freshman had acceptance letters come in plain white envelopes
@UWwinter2017 Thank you I’ll be doing the same as you. Well if you want to discuss being possible roommates let me know and we can exchange contact information. My dad told me he wants to come up to Washington to help me find housing once I get the letter.
@Aharris1105 Yes definitely. Do you know what orientation you’ll be attending? I’m thinking about the 16th. Just waiting for the housing email now.
It looks like the instate transfers are hearing back today, so maybe that means us out of state transfers will be hearing back within the next few days
I hope so. I’m rooting for you all.
Does anyone know if the unofficial transcript for Seattle will load if you also have one from Tacoma? Cause I got accepted into UW Tacoma for the winter 2017 quarter as well
I am instate and have /not/ had my transcript load, and no change to my application page. Am I the only in state applicant who has not heard back yet?
@uwtransferguy2017 nope you’re not alone, I’m an in-state transfer as well and mine still hasn’t uploaded. I only have one from UW Tacoma since I also applied there.
im instate and i still havent heard back yet this is very scary
No you aren’t alone, I attended uw tacoma for a while and that transcript loaded. I haven’t heard anything from admissions.
But seriously you guys what will our envelopes look like?!
