Winter Storm

Safe trip, glassharmonica, do you ever get the feeling these storms are following you like a shadow?!
Rose, I think I’m with your dad on this one. The central region of the state is getting hammered right now and we have about 10" right now with blinding snow blowing around in 40mph winds. Did you call Crane and see if they have alternate arrangements?
All morning flights out of Rochester are now canceled- this as of midnight, 2/26.

At least you could come home and link up to catch NJTransit in Trenton to get to NYC, cheaper than Amtrak. Weather is pretty bad in central NJ this morning…all schools are closed, including universities. Driving will be better by Saturday. Good luck!

Juilliard has emailed that auditions will go on NO MATTER WHAT THE WEATHER this weekend. Weeding out the weak, I presume… NEC has not yet commented. We are almost finished with auditions!!!

I’m on my way into NYC for my regional audition for SFCM. I’m praying that the trains run on time!! It’s so slushy here.

Well, we made it to Potsdam alright. Hit a bit of some bad snow going out of Massachusetts, and then it simply snowed on again off again in the mountains.

Despite all of the dire forecasts, we hit only mild snow on our way to DC on Friday; Saturday’s drive to NYC was also so easy, it was almost eerie. We felt very lucky!

Glad to hear that Rose and glassharmonica made it safely. This storm was a real “hit or miss” type. Even around here, the amounts varied from 15 to 28 inches.
Rose, how did your audition go?

I think I posted a bit in the audition thread… My actual audition went fine, but the registration was a nightmare. We couldn’t find the building… Once inside the building, we couldn’t find the registration… I was handed at least five forms, and each one had to be given to someone else… The audition times kept changing, the rooms were scattered all over the place, and no one was assigned any practice rooms. By far, the least organized audiiton I have ever gone to, ever.
