worcester city life

I read that worcester is a very dull boring place. What do the college guys of the city do in weekends. How far and accessible is boston. and what about the public transportation? Would be glad if I could get some info.

Thanks

from what i know, worcester is pretty boring and dull, but pretty accessible to boston for maybe 10-15$ roundtrip -- just check the mbta.com website

My dad went to Clark and he said that the hot spot was a Friendlys.

I live near it. And I hardly consider it a city. I always look eastward when I talk about going into the city (i.e. Boston). I know a couple people at WPI who say they have nothing to do. I think there's a classical concert series at Mechanics Hall (the local concert hall) every winter, but the tickets are quite expensive. I'm not sure about nightlife, and some neighborhoods are terribly sketchy.

There's a commuter rail that goes from Worcester to Boston, but it's very expensive if you plan on using it often. Right now, it's about $14.50 for a roundtrip from Worcester to South Station, and I think it'll take you at least an hour. The commuter rail also doesn't have a very flexible schedule. It's mostly used by people living in central Massachusetts who need to commute to work in Boston. The weekend departure times are few and not terribly convenient.
