Work Study

Hello! This is my first post. But I was just curious, I am planning on doing Work Study this Fall semester. I had it listed in my Award Letter, so I know I'm eligible for it. I'm just curious, when do I start getting more information about it? I've checked the Georgia Tech site and it's pretty vague for now, not listing any available positions. With the semester coming up in about a month, I'm just trying to get it all together. Anyone had experience doing it or know what steps you're supposed to follow in the Work Study program?

I believe/hope a list of positions will come up once the semester actually starts. Last year, there was a pretty long list of positions you can apply for, so I wouldn’t worry too much. They range from working in the stock room of the chem labs, to clerical tasks and whatnot. To participate in FWS, just email the contact for the job with your resume and why they should hire you. If they like what they see they’ll interview you and work out the times you can work. You also need to give them a copy of your award letter to verify you are FWS eligible. Then you go to OHR (office of human resource) to do some paperwork and will see an Employee tab in BuzzPort.
