Worried about my downward trend ):

Hi all,

I know that there’s some threads on this, but they didn’t really answer for my specific scenario, at least I didn’t think so. Since settling down in my classes for senior year (and stressing over college as well as personal issues regarding my sexuality), it’s shaping up to be that I’ll have one, maybe two B’s out of my four classes, only three being academic classes (other is gym). I’m worried about the downward trend that will occur on my transcript as I’ve only gotten A’s before, but these are dual enrollment classes at a community college. They’re not really classes to laugh at either, Calc II and Chem I, but I’m not sure how much this will affect me in college admissions. In addition, these B’s might drop me down from my valedictorian status by one, possibly 2 spots. How much would this hurt me in regards to my reach schools like Princeton or Penn? Thanks in advance for any responses, they’re greatly appreciated as always.

While not your exact situation, very similar questions have been asked and answered hundreds of time over.

Anyway, colleges want you to take demanding classes. Often those classes with have harder grading standards. If you get rejected for a B, it is highly unlikely that they would have accepted you with an A
