It works nicely, I was in contact with potential swaps all year last year but never managed to swap, as I was trying to go from a double to a single.

And I would argue that Baits is better than Bursley. I’ve lived in both, haha.

It really depends on personal choice.
Bursley is far more social because there is a community bathroom, but at the same time, it’s a lot more noisy.
Baits is good for if you like to study in peace and are more of a quiet person. Personally, I would just walk over to Bursley if I wanted to meet up with friends or do hw in a more social atmosphere.

Yes, in Baits, you share a room with one other person (if you’re in a single) and two other people (if you’re in a double).

From what i heard mary markley is pretty bad. Bad smell, old, small, bad food, etc. But i also heard it’s a great spot for freshmen to get the true college experience and good place to meet other freshmen.

From what i know of Baits, the rooms are slightly bigger, more of an apartment feeling. It’s nice and quite and has a tennis court and basketball court right next two it, along with direct parking.

But, the downside has to be the issue with food in my opinion, especially in the winter. :
You have to journey over to Bursley for your dorm meals, plus with michigan winters and heavy snow, it really sucks. But there is a short cut to get to Bursley, i personally dislike it since it’s a very steep, dirt, hill trail…but a lot of other people have found it to be really useful.

It is very small and and really out of the way.

Really, the building you live in doesn’t make the experience. You could have the best room in the best dorm on campus, and if your roommate sucks or you have ****y neighbors it’s still going to suck. You can enjoy yourself anywhere as long as you keep a good attitude about it. There is no reason to convince yourself you’re going to hate your living arrangements before you even get to school, you have nothing to gain from that.

yeah i heard markley is by far the worst dorm. its way to small and hectic to get anything done. however, my roomate wants to live there so im willing to give up my spacious bursely double for any markley double. btw bursely has great food

I’m pretty sure it is all about your attitude. If you think you’re going to have the worst dorm experience ever, then you probably will. So just go into it with your head high and take it for what it’s worth. Plus, if you end up having mediocre living conditions, then you can meet people to “pull through the hardship”…

It’s all about the people; not the actual building/location.

All the people saying, “Markley is probably the worst dorm. It is so old, small, and smelly. However, I am willing to trade my room in Baits for it if you are interested” crack me up.
