i just got my housing assignment: baits 1.
Is this the worst dorm on campus? Please be honest

^ I think it’s not that bad. I got into Oxford.

I got into Oxford too, and know very little about it.

Baits is on North Campus, so it’s what you make of it.

Yeah, baits is the worst from what I’ve heard

Oxford/Fletcher are the worst.

Hmmm I got Markley.

I got Markley too…Looks like were gonna have a blast…This got me too excited to go to college!

I got Oxford! Oxford’s not the worst on campus. not by a long shot haha

has anybody heard of a way to change your housing or get out of it? i know its a little late

i haven’t heard yet!

they just sent me an email stating:

"This email is to acknowledge our receipt of your U-M Housing application.

Our assignment process continues throughout the summer, and some students may
not hear about their placement until August. Keep in mind that all new first-year
freshmen are guaranteed housing - and this email confirms we have your information
and will be placing you in an assignment."

does anyone know what this means???

will i be living in a cardboard box outside baits???

Minivan, I was confused too, but the info is clearly shown after choosing a meal plan.

hmm.

interesting. there was no information available to me about a meal plan or any type of link.

after the thing i posted above, it said “we look forward to seeing you in the fall!”
end of email.

not good.

oh wait. I didnt actually read your email. Its just not coming yet. wait on it. When did you fill out applications/turn in enrollment deposit/etc? could be a factor.

Minivan, it just means you’ll be getting your housing assignment later. As a sidenote, a later housing assignment doesn’t necessarily mean placement on North, since I know people who were placed on Central/Hill who found out their housing assignment later than others.

ETA: Baits I is the furthest dorm for Central (which is where I assume most of your classes will be). But the good thing about Baits I is that you’re basically guaranteed a spot on the bus to Central, since it’s the first stop on the North to Central route, and that’s definitely a plus (waiting in the cold at the Bursley stop and not getting on the bus because it’s full sucksss).

Baits sucks. A lot.

North Campus isn’t so bad if you are at Bursley, but Baits…ew…

Baits sucks, Bursley is slightly better, Oxford kinda sucks.

question-do baits single rooms have their own bathrooms?

It’s a shared bathroom… at least that’s what it says in my contract.

I’d argue that Bursley is a lot better than Baits. But then again, I’m biased because I had a blast in Bursley.

I think you share a bathroom with one other room whether you’re in a single or double in Baits.

I have to stay in Markley!
I hear the rooms are extremely small, but you will probably have the most fun there and have lots of great food
