Should I buy a printer to bring to UT? Basically, I'm wondering if it'll be worth the cost of a printer, ink, and paper vs. going to the library and printing. How much is it to print at the library?
Oh, and I have a laptop.

It mostly depends on your major. Those studying history or literature would be typing more papers and would be in more need of a personal printer than those in engineering and business. If you already know your roommate, you can see if one of you can bring a printer and both of you pay for the ink and paper. There’s no need for two people rooming together to have two printers. I don’t know the cost to print at the library though.

Ok that helps. Oh, and I am in business

Then you’ll probably be saving more money by printing at the library than buying your own. Of course, you might have to be taking some english/government classes to graduate so you might need one later in your junior or senior year.

Does Ut have a system where your tuition pays for ,say, 800 pages of paper to print for free? I know that some other Universities have this system.

^not that I’ve seen.

Buy your own unless you can definitely use your roommate’s. A very decent B&W laser can be had for well under $100.

Can you not also print from 24 hr access computer labs…which I assume charge your Bevo Bucks account as well?
