My gpa unweighted is an 87.4, and it's an 89.1 weighted. I scored a 1390/2130 on the sats (660 crit, 730 math, 740 writing) and took three SAT2s (math 2, U.S. history, and physics) and got a 690, 710, and 720 respectively. I also have a decent amount of ECS and community service although its nothing to write home about. I know my gpa is low, but I was hoping my SATs would compensate, plus I have a 94 average so far for senior year. So what do you guys think?

I think you have a great shot, depending on what school your applying to
Harpur I’d say you’re in, but SOM is much more competitive and you might not be a shoo in
but your M+CR SAT is good enough to compensate for the below average GPA I think

Thanks for the feedback, and yeah I’m applying to Harpur; I should’ve mentioned that before.

In addition on Naviance all the people in my school got in, but they all had a little higher SAT than me (some had the same ACT), but I had a higher GPA than more than fifty percent that applied. I am the only one who applied to Binghamton this year from my school as well.

HAPPYG123, you know that I created this thread so that I could have people chance me, not so that I could chance other people, right? If you want me to chance you then chance me first

You’ll prob get in jeff, your SAT scores are ballin. It’ll all come down to your school’s reputation w/ Binghamton.

@jeff - Your SAT scores will indeed be a significant advantage. It is probably enough to compensate for you GPA. If you grades were earned with enough hard courses then they may even be a credential. I would say you have a solid chance of acceptance. I would not worry about it too much because I doubt Binghamton is in the business of rejecting obvious smart students (based on your scores) who simply didn’t get the best grades.

10 characters

i think you have a great chance

thanks. would you say im definitely in or is it just a maybe?

Jeff, you’re definitely getting in!

HAPPYG123, you also have a good chance, however, your ACT/SAT scores are a little low. I suggest you turn in your ACT instead of your SAT.

Jeff, you have a pretty good shot, but the GPA might bring you down a bit.

HappyG, standardized score is on the low end.

@dudecollege
HappyG already got in

Oh, cool. Congrats, HappyG!
