I am from New York and potentially want to to go to Ole Miss, my biggest fear is that the people there will not like me. I am confident I could get into Ole Miss. I want to be a part of greek life where ever I go so, I realize it is a big change culturally where I would be moving. I'm sure I would catch on with some of the cultural and social changes but I know for a fact that there will be some things that seem weird to them because I'm from the North I'd never stop doing (sorry that sentence was really confusing). A lot of people in my family have discouraged from going there because they say I won't fit in, so thats my question. Will I be able to make friends there and join a frat or something or will I be labeled an outsider and looked at differently because I'm from the North?

My son will be a freshman this fall and we just got back from orientation. in his class of 2018 facebook page I saw guys from Long island and upstate new York. We are from Ohio and there are at least 10 kids from Columbus where we live attending this fall. His class has the highest percentage of out of state freshman this year, over 50%. You will be fine. Once you visit the campus you may not want to tour anywhere else. Its a true family atmosphere. The greek life is great and they welcome guys from all over the country. Good club lacrosse team also if you play.

all fifty states and 94 countries are represented at ole miss! you will be fine! Good Luck!
