I’m applying to UC schools, and the first prompt is :
Describe the world you come from – for example, your family, community or school – and tell us how your world has shaped your dreams and aspirations.
My goal was the write about the personal growth and resilience I found as a result of growing up with an abusive parent. I don’t want this to be a sob story in the least, and I don’t want it to focus on the abuse. I want it to show how I overcame that, and how I matured as a result of it.
