<p>@Dartmoose: No, only if you were invited. From what I saw on the Dartmouth writing website, you only take it if you score below 620 on the "Verbal" (I guess CR?) section of the SAT. I'm not sure if that's true because it's obviously outdated.</p>

<p>I read somewhere on the website that the test takers are chosen based on their SAT Critical Reading Score.
Also, if you do take it and you are assigned to Writing 2-3 or 5 you don't have to take the class if you want to...but then what's the point of the test if I can just opt to not take the class they recommend?</p>
