Writing section was ridiculous for October.

I get a 10 essay and 55 MC and get a 590.

Friend gets a 6 essay 65 MC and gets a 670.

Ankur, I got a 10 essay and 56 MC and got 600.

But I dont understand either. I just ordered the Q&A services, and I am determined to find errors in their grading.

Yeah, I always thought the essay was worth a lot, but apparently it isn't worth **** compared to the MC.

^ That's always how it is. The writing section is pretty BDSM; it'll punish you.

i thought it was so generous this time

i got a 12 and a 76 and got an 800.

How do you even see the essay score?

Collegeboard is telling me I can't until Nov. 1st

That's because the essay is stupid and a waste of time.

8 essay, 79 multiple choice --> 750

The essay is difficult if you don't spend all your time studying and doing prep.

MCs always weigh more. essays only make a few diff~~~
1 MC off can hurt alot, and u got like what, 14 MC off? with a 10 essay? of course thats gona hurt. whereas ur friend got like 6-7 ~ mc wrong, of course he gets higher lol.

2legit2quit, if you click the red link in the top left-ish when you log in that says "see your scores" or something to that effect, you can see your writing breakdown. you can't see your essay yet, but you can see the score. at first i was confused too, it's kind of dumb if you ask me.

SAT makes me so mad.... every single time i've taken the SAT i've gotten the extra writing section for the experimental one... and each time i've had 2 writing sections back to back, one which is the real one and one which is the experimental one... i get so burned out after having to answer 70 writing questions in a row, and the 2nd section is usually the one that counts... and it burns me out for the next section or two

I found the writing section this time very generous. The questions weren't that tricky, and I had thought my essay was going to suck. I ended up with a 76 MC and 10 essay (770).

i got 76 and 9 and got 750. I was thinking I would stay at 760 but w/e

i really tend to over-think some of the writing questions sometimes.. if i just went with my gut feeling more often, my writing score would probably be about 30-50 points higher (a 740-760 vs. a 710 for the Oct. SAT)

So does each point on the essay equal 1 question?

i think you can get an 80 for MC with a 10 on the essay and still have an 790-800

BigWeight you shocked me! I got 76 on Mc and only 8 on essay, and ended up with 720. Essay matters a big deal!!!!!

It does. The curve was especially harsh for the writing this time around (we missed 2 to get 76 MC). I got a 76 MC and 8-E with a total of 720 W as well. -.-
If we had gotten a 9 it would have been a 750.

i got a 71 MC with a 9 on my essay and still got a 710. so does that i mean i really didn't miss too many if the curve was harsh?

^you probably missed around 3-4, but that 9 E made a difference. Let's trade essays =D.

10 on the essay
69 on MC

710 Total

about 40 points worse than I expected :[
