Is anyone else having kind of a hard time with this? I feel like I could go on for pages and pages about why I want to go to Duke, but it seems really hard to write it in 1-2 paragraphs, and to say things that will stand out from the rest of the applicant pool. I've written like 2.5 different versions of it, and I don't really like any of them lol..

Did you visit?
You can write about that.

Yeh...i kept having to take out every little side story or explanation about why i liked each thing about Duke but i think it turned out ok. Just keep working. I LIKE DUKE A LOTTTTTTT!!!!! So the Why Duke wasnt that hard. I'm gonna be bitter for a few days though if i get rejected. Probably gonna go crazy and turn against the school and enroll at UNC-Chapel Hill. Oh well, for now I think I at least have a ballin "why duke". Good Luck!

Mondo: Yeah, I did visit, so I think part of it will be kind of about that. Everything about the campus is so beautiful! And Durham actually seems pretty interesting. I wish I could have gone when school was actually in session, though. I had to go during the summer.

schoolsearching: I definitely know what you mean about having to cut tons of stuff out like that. But thanks for the encouragement. I like Duke so much too!!! That's great that you think your essay turned out well. Did you end up focusing on just a couple of things, or was it about tons of things you like about Duke? Best of luck to you too! Hopefully we'll see each other down in Durham next fall!

Yeah, I think I'm going to write about my visit and even though it was during spring break, the campus was beautiful and then I;m going to talk about the variety of electives for BME majors and also their excellent music program.
