Wtp 2011

Nope, from the north. Are you guys flying/driving/taking the train? Personally, I’m driving.

I’m from Arkansas, and it’s a 22 hour drive. Definitely flying!

Hey! I got accepted into ME. Super excited. Driving down from Canada :)

@firevswater and NginEar thanks for all the info!

I’m from NJ and I will be driving in as well. =)

Sweet! Can’t wait for this summer!

@nocturnalduck: I will be attending MIT this fall (i got in EA).

@madi2012: Don’t worry about your test scores too much. Mine was about the same… They really do look at who you are as a person more.

@NoHateJustWin: haha cool! we had one girl from Canada last year too :)

Enjoy your time at WTP everyone! This thread makes me feel very nostalgic ^_^

I started a group on facebook, it’s called WTP 2011

I requested to join it :)

@firevswater: I miss it so much, too! I read this thread and get so nostalgic. Yes, please enjoy your time at WTP everyone! Explore the campus. Take lots of pictures, meet new people and learn a lot! The work is challenging but very worth it :D

@nginear: i just understood your handle… lol
i think i was saying it in my head like nnn-ghin-ear or something haha!

@nocturnalduck: hahahahaha

And if anyone has any last minute question on what to pack or on anything, please ask!

Hey everyone! I was accepted ME. I’m so excited for next week. Anybody else from PA?

Hola, everyone, just thought I would post this:
Thanks to the two of you (NginEar and firevswater) for all the tips. I did ME and I loved it! Everyone was awesome and I really understood what Mech E was and how I fit in at MIT. So far I’ve visited a bunch of colleges but because of the amazing experience I had at WTP, MIT is still my top choice :slight_smile:
So definitely, great advice to go!!!
Hi, kelski12 :D

Reviving the thread! (: Anyone applied for summer 2012? I didn’t see any recent WTP threads/posts.

Haha. I have been looking for a 2012 wtp thread. I applied. Now just to wait 3 more months for a decision…

Yay, another person! Yeah hmm it doesn’t seem like many CC people are applying this year. The WTP website says there are 270 people applying though.

Yep. 22% acceptance rate :\ 84 more days until a decision. bites nails nervously

Hi

I’m a WTP alum and current MIT student, and I just wanted to let you know that if you have questions about anything that I’m here!

:)

How difficult is it to get in to the program?

biochemlove, I’m guessing you’re majoring in biochemical engineering x) Prepare for a deluge of questions over the next few weeks (just kidding!) Were you in EECS or ME at WTP? Were you already interested in biochem engineering or engineering in general, and how much did WTP help you (in terms of new knowledge that helps in the future, deciding on a college major, deciding on a college, getting into college, etc)?
Thanks in advance! (:
