WTP Summer Program

crap. i took ap comp sci. does that mean im "overqualified"? i seriously don't remember anything though, i was a sophomore.

Accepted to EECS.

Congrats!

Our mail just came...nothing...they lost my application I KNOW IT.

[edit] nvm I just called. I'm in at EECS! Looking forward to meeting you all this summer!

Congrats to you too eightmagnets!! You broke down and called haha.

Wow! Congrats to you both CMD220 and eightmagnets! And I hope you get your letter soon Annie88. With luck I might see all you guys there this summer. Have you decided whether or not you're going to go yet?

ARGH! STILL nothing....have you guys gotten stuff in the mail yet? Is not having anything a good sign?

Major, major congrats to you two though.

i have nothing in the mail too, but i live in seattle, don't worry i'm sure it'll come eventually....

Congrats to all who got in! Did acceptances come in "packets" or "letters"?

Acceptances are packets, I hear.

what did you say on the phone?

Something along the lines of:

"Hi, my name is ___. I applied to the Women's Technology Program. I know that decisions were mailed out last week, but I haven't received one yet, and I was concerned that perhaps my application got lost way back in February (true worry...didn't include the self addressed envelope)...would if be possible if you could check to see if I'm on the roster?"

She sounds very nice.

She did say that Monday was a holiday for them over there and the mail, especially the "bigger packages" may have just gotten stuck in the mailroom for an extra day.

I still haven't gotten anything, but I gave in and called....and have been accepted into EECS! :D

Yay!

Are you going?

Of course! :)
You are, right? See you this June! Yeeee! (I'm fairly excited).

To everyone: I recommend calling....it seems to yield good results. lol. 2/2 at the moment as far as calling and getting in goes...

I'm in!!!!

Congrats Annie and Reaching!

Wow...everyone's getting in! That's so exciting. Congrats Annie88 and Reaching! But everyone's in EECS right? Nobody else has gotten into ME?? Oh well, I'll still see you all :) That's probably why I got my letter before everybody else, since it's a different program.

Yay Reaching! It'll be awesome to meet you guys this summer!

I got my packet today and it said in the letter only 195 people had applied to EECS! Wasn't it something like 400 last year?

I heard that too; guess we got "lucky," although it'd be more...bragging rights-ish I guess if 400 people applied and only 40 got in. But I'm not complaining!

I got my packet today too (it was delivered to our neighbors house...). No air conditioning in dorms! Ack! Overall though, sounds awesome. McCormick is a women's residential hall...maybe it'll be cleaner than the other dorms?

Excited to see you all this summer!

ME is staying in McCorkmick Hall too. I looked at the website (<a href="http://web.mit.edu/mccormick/www/layoutjava.html%5B/url%5D">http://web.mit.edu/mccormick/www/layoutjava.html</a>) and it looks really nice! Plus it's really close to the student union.
Maybe less people applied this year because they raised the tuition? I'm not sure, maybe they have a first cut or something. I'm not complaining though!
