WTP Summer Program

"McCormick Hall is noted for the graciousness of its common spaces. First floor facilities now include two large living rooms, 4 "date rooms," a dance studio, the dining hall, and the private dining room."

dance studio? should i bring my tap shoes? lol and what is a "date room"? The view of the Charles will be awesome...

You should bring your tap shoes and teach me to dance! lol.

hmm...one can only hope that 195 is an indicator of fewer junior women interested...not that this is overall good, but better for gettting into college, perhaps specifically MIT.

ahhhhh I'm SO EXCITED. are any of you ladies going to be at ISEF?

Many years ago, the only way a male student could go to McCormick was to meet his date in the "date room". Now they're more like little meeting rooms, I guess... I'm not sure anybody really uses them for anything anymore.

You can bring a window air conditioner and put it in if you want to -- electricity is free. :) I don't know how this summer will be, but last summer would have been completely unbearable without my AC. At the very least, bring a fan!

With it being by the river...should it be cooler?

I'm definitely bringing a desk fan. If my roomate brings an air conditioner...love

Reaching: no ISEF for me. I don't think anyone in my area does that kind of thing. But good luck to you! (It's coming up soon...?)

I don't know... I mean, I live on the river too (MacGregor is a few dorms down from McCormick), and it was really hot last summer.

Usually the rooms facing the river are actually warmer, because they're southern exposures and get sun all day.

Eeh, I'm guessing the river makes it hot and humid? Ah well, I'll definitely bring a fan. And ice. Lots of ice.
2 months! Have to survive APs first but I can't wait!

aw, cmon guys its not that hot. itll be perfect at night and we'll be in air conditioned classrooms all day.

Yeah...I'm not too worried. It can't get much worse than MN in peak summer, right? And my mom never lets us turn on the AC unless it's like 110 degrees F.

I got that email today, and my raving interest is re-spurred. I thought the geographical breakup was very interesting.

So looking forward to this.

4 from washington? so 1 from my city, and probably 1 from tacoma and 2 from seattle.

Yeah....eight from CA and MA?! Wow.

Though I was rejected coz of overqualification, I congratulate those who got in!!

I got my other camp decision yesterday. Got accepted to Wharton business and technology camp. looking forward to that.

Hope you all have a great summer!

Yay for kiki :) I hope you have an amazing time at Wharton and a great summer in general!

sorry kiki, hope wharton is fantastic.

Hm...if those of us who got in all go (is everyone going?) we'll be 1/12 of all the people there...which is actually quite a bit. Just a thought. This is actually just my way of "bumping" a thread.

Kiki-you were told you were "too good" AND got an amazing opportunity elsewhere. Wow. Have fun this summer!

Anyways, good luck with APs everybody!

You too, eightmagnets.

Has anyone sent in the confirmation form yet?

Hi, guys!

Am I too late to jump into the forum? (heehee) My letter took FOREVER to get here, and it turned out I was waitlisted, so I had to wait a while longer, but anyway, I found out I'm in too! I'm so excited; it should be great!

Anyway, so just out of curiosity, what do you guys like to do? Favorite classes/sports/books?

Can't wait to see all of you this summer!

No, I'm not going to send in the confirmation form until the last possible day. Because I'm lazy like that.

Hm...what do I like to do? Nothing really specific (I know, lack of "passion". Call it "still exploring one's interests). Argh, I still haven't gotten around to making the "Top Ten..." lists I've wanted to do since last year. This summer, I'll "explore" and get my list fully hammered out.

But yeah, interested in seeing how everyone else responds.

Good question scooby_hermione. I'm so excited but I'm also kinda nervous. A month is a long time to commit, thats half the summer!

Sports/activities:
SOCCER
skiing
running/track
dance
sailing
drama
singing
For classes, I guess I like math, stat, and the like. Most definitely don't like history. eh, school...

Books? Lord of the Rings (and the movies obviously), Harry Potter- scooby_hermione I see youre a fan as well. Those arent very deep books lol. And of course I read the davinci code (who hasnt?).
