Yale Admissions Today??

I'm surprised that they gave you a decision over the phone. Most schools don't do that.

they gave it to me over the phone because they sent the decision to me to my school and i'm leaving my school in a few hours (i'm an international student). so she just asked if i wanted to know over the phone.

oops! yale rejected! how sad! bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

did you get rejected, or are you mocking the person who was disappointed above?

oh no- I got rejected- I think u can find out by fone actually cos I just called and she asked me for my last name (she just assumed I called for my decision) so u guys can call away- Now I'm certain I have no chance of getting into harvard/stanford! Life sucks!

this is making me queasy

I doff my hat for anyone who gets in- whoever that is/will be on cc deserves a CC distinguished person award or sth! Oh no, but this is sooooooo depressing!

I do not understand why people are disappointed. Yale's admit rate to begin with is harsh, and it is inevitable that most qualified applicants will be rejected.

One should not expect an acceptance when applying to Yale. One who is downcast by Yale's decision has himself to blame, not Yale.

I think your attitude is rather harsh. When one applies, one may do so with the expectation of being rejected, but one always preserves a certain hope of being accepted as well. With regards to myself, I feel disappointed -- but not surprised -- by this outcome. It shocks me on some level that you "do not understand why people are disappointed" -- I mean, really...

comment

rejected, as expected..

yale's a no-go for me too. i thought id be disappointed, but i'm not. lol

The disappointment is not justified.

Wie sagt man das in Deutsche? Ah klar! Du bist dumm.

Your German needs work, honey.

As does your reasoning.

Additionally, my statement was just a modification of the typical phrase..
"Wie schreibt man das?"

I merely switched verbs and added a preposition and a noun. For one year, and As in both semesters, I am doing pretty well.

Deutsch = la langue allemande
Deutsche = l'adjectif =)

But clearly that exceeds you.

Additionally, I believe it should be "auf Deutsch" -- but German is my seventh langauge, so forgive me for such mistakes. You see, I'm dumb.

Being a polyglot does not indicate intelligence. There are stages in one's life where learning languages is significantly easier.

hahahahah so, to summarize:

first you tell denied applicants that they're wrong to feel at all disappointed by their yale rejection... then you proceed to insult me for my uplifting comment and tell me i'm dumb (for no good reason) while making elementary german errors... and then you refuse to address these errors in a civilized manner...

yeah, i'm done...

edit: I'm NOT flaying you for your errors, and to be honest, I thought of you as a nice enough person until you told me I'm dumb -- geez...some of us are hurting here and you just throw the iodine on...have some compassion...

I am sorry about your rejection. You can be disappointed, but – in my opinion – it was no big loss, given your stats.

Edit: Now I would be disappointed with Columbia. I thought you were a sure-admit.
