My original list was 21, applied to 18 then had to withdraw my app from 3. T_T Financial reasons. Blah.

I’m also terrified of all rejections.

You’re not the only one scared of all rejections. I actually ran stats on mine–19.9% chance rejection from all my non-safety schools. Eep!

Some of y’all (excuse my colloquialism) might remember that I was contacted for a second Yale interview. It went amazingly! I interviewed first with an assistant director of admissions in the SCEA round and this time it was with an alumni from within my state. As far as what I’ve observed, it seems that alumni interviews really do help you get a great feel for the school, and it’s great when a lot of comments about Yale and the student body get repeated across both interviews.

Only about 50 days to go, right? It’s getting closer!

^
50? That’s it? Wow. Time really flies.
Well, I just got outright rejected from McMaster (and I really thought that I would get in, but they’re too objective and just translated my French Baccalaureate grades to Canadian without analyzing my school’s difficulty. My English teacher told me that it happens every year because my Lyc

Adodie - I’m thinking of majoring in either Economics. Minor in Pol Sc.

All my schools are reaches cus i’m an international in need of a full ride. Ugh, cruel life >.<

@jordan
Congratulations on the interviews! Glad it went well! ^▁^

Awww, but at least you have safeties. T_T

I’m curious, where else are you guys getting offered interviews? Aside from my two for Yale, I’ve also been contacted for a few of the other Ivies so far.

Brown, UPenn and Princeton.
H offered me one, but the location was where I used to live, lol.

Harvard, UChicago (Skype), Columbia and, more recently, Yale

I’ve already done Barnard, Princeton, Brown, Harvard, and just now Dartmouth. I have a Yale one later today and Tufts hopefully next weekend. Haven’t gotten contacted for Columbia, and my Penn guy hasn’t gotten back to me.

…Wow. When I list it all out, yeah, I applied to way too many schools. This is sort of embarrassing.

Don’t worry @stupiddorkyidiot (though by your school list, I’d say that you’re no idiot :)), I applied to 10 schools and 5 of them don’t conduct interviews (though if I could have done it differently, I probably would have ended up applying to 18 schools, adding 8 more US schools to my list).

I’ve been lucky – I’ve been offered an interview from every Ivy I’ve applied to: Yale, Harvard, Brown, Penn, and Princeton.

Still no interview :(

It’s okay economistPhysics, it depends on the alum assigned to your area or if you even have an alum, they can only stretch their resources so far. Even then, the interview counts for very little and they won’t hold it against you if you weren’t interviewed.

You guys have applied to sooo many schools lol. I’ve applied to four. I think that’s a record

Do we know for sure the response date? The email they sent out to the early applicants said the regular decision date was March 28th, but their website says April 1. I’m hoping for the 28th!

^
I think it’s the 28th, because that’s what I saw as well. Guess we’ll see :)

As for me, I’ve gotten interviews from Yale (2), Columbia, Brown, and Princeton. I know there are alumni out here from Harvard and Stanford, so we’ll see…

Are many of you getting Alumni interview Requests? If so would you respond and tell me where you are located.
Feeling a bit overlooked at almost mid Feb and no interview request from Stanford,Yale,Columbia or Duke. Have determined that Stanford doesn’t have much of a network for int in the South except perhaps for the Atlanta area. My D has had an EA interview for Princeton (deferred) and what she feels were really engaging and successful interviews for Harvard and Georgetown. For the last two she had to drive 50 miles. With all the comments about how much the interview means, I still feel like it is an important part of the experience. We would probably drive all the way to Atlanta to fulfill one.

I live about 10 minutes away from Yale. My dad went there for undergrad and I’ve pretty much grown up at that university. Yale is a great institution, and i believe that if any of you get in you will enjoy it. I didn’t apply to Yale due to the fact that I’ve spent so much time there i would feel like i never left for college. I want to go to Stanford. I need some sort of a culture shock.
I know it seems weird that I’m posting in a thread for a college I didn’t apply to, but you can ask me questions about the university and i can answer them

zoeisadora, I live in the middle of CT and I got them from Yale and Brown. And Bestillandknow0, from my semi-understanding the decisions will be online on the 28th and officials letters will be sent out from April 1st on.

I live in the Metro Detroit area, applied on Dec. 31st (I’ve heard that sometimes date of application matters in whether you get an interview or not; i.e., the earlier you apply the higher up on the list you are to be selected by your local alum association), was contacted last Monday, and interviewed today.
