Yale Transfer Fall 2015

you guys submitted before 3/1 right? just to make sure lol

I submitted ON 3/1 lol. Although I realized later that they had extended the deadline to the 2nd… not that it would’ve made a huge difference I think.

yeah they extended the deadline to March 2, so if you submitted by 11:59pm, you are fine!

Is anyone sending a supplementary recommendation?

I am! And my chances are slim to none now bc I was suppose to retake the SAT tomorrow but due to inclement weather, we’ve been told to move our test dates to May and Yale doesn’t accept any later dates. sighs

Scored a 660 on writing on different SAT test dates. :((

Hi guys, I just got off the phone with Yale’s admissions office. I asked about tracking our applications and the mid-term report.

The lady on the phone (who was terribly uninterested) said that our applications are considered complete without the midterm report IF it can’t be sent before the decision release date. That sounds iffy to me. She said I should send the report whenever I get my midterm grades, and if I don’t get them in time then my admission will merely be contingent on “not flunking” my present classes and my final semester grades (these are her words)

WTF???

I received an email today saying that my college report and transcript is missing, I’m worried now because I have sent it both way back in February :-S

@loodik1‌
I got the same email, and I also sent out my stuff in early February. I emailed them, asking if I should wait or send in more.

I will possibly call them tomorrow too

@loodik1‌
Can you let me know how that goes? I am really worried about the missing materials.

same! i’m running out of money as well!

That email almost definitely gave me a mini heart attack
I’m on the quarter system and just sent my transcript a week ago ish…so I’ll ignore their missing notification I guess

Hey guys two quick questions.

On the email from admissions did anyone else have something missing that looked like this-

2nd College Transcript
Final Transcript

I know in the email from admissions it said to disregard the 2nd college transcript if we haven’t attended a 2nd college, but what do they mean by “Final Transcript”? Does that mean my high school transcript or is that just a part of the 2nd college transcript wording?

Also, for those of you who sent your midterm reports/didn’t, was that included in your email as a missing item or did it not appear? I sent mine about a week ago and it didn’t show up as a missing item, but I am wondering if they perhaps didn’t include that in the email. I feel like just resending it to ensure they have received it, rather than risking some mix up.

Thanks!!!

I think it refers to your final high school transcript + report

The final high school report isn’t required though and I would be shocked if they haven’t received my high school transcript considering it was sent digitally over a month ago.

On your email did they reference this “Final Transcript”?

@jackdub32‌ actually that’s EXACTLY what I got today. I’m also kind of confused since my high school transcript was sent in January. I’m assuming the second college transcript is actually referring to the midterm report, or an updated transcript including your most recent grades. I say this because I’m on the quarter system and I emailed them before about my full grades for the past quarter being sent by around April 10 and they replied saying it didn’t matter, as the deadline for those documents were different from the application. But the email also says we should make sure they receive the missing documents within a week of the email which is impossible for me as of now. I’m probably going to call them tomorrow as well.

I got summoned for a skype interview. The email said this wasn’t usual, but instead was a result of my unconventional educational background.

Anyone have tips?

I found a user from a previous year who had the same thing come up and he didn’t get in O:

I also received an email about my “final transcript” being missing which is pretty mysterious. I mailed in a second copy of my high school transcript since that’s the only thing it really could be, but I think I’ll call them on monday.

@UniversalSnip, make no assumptions about what this means. Tip: be yourself, relax as well as you can, go with the flow of the interview, have some legit questions (ie things that 10 minutes on Google would not have answered).

I’ve gotten a lot of pms, so I’ll just say it here again. I called the Yale office a couple of days ago and the “Final Transcript” that is missing refers to your high school transcript. And according to the lady I spoke with there is probably some problem with that email, since she confirmed that they HAVE indeed received my high school transcript. The best way is to just call and confirm with your Yale ID!

@UniversalSnip‌ Good luck! Not sure if this will help a whole lot, but aside from preparing questions like IxnayBob said, you can organize some of the important things about you that you for sure want to get across. You’ll find that you can naturally link these with whatever impromptu questions you are asked. Hope this (somewhat) helps!
