From my research looking through old posts and what not. I've been able to get a rough idea on a couple of dorms.

Jennings:
-Very social
-Lots of sorority types
-Close to frats
-No carpets?
-Not really clean?
-Annoying A/C machine on window?
-Communal bathrooms
-Lots of freshman

Broward:
-Very social as well
-Close to science buildings and close to the heart of campus
-East side of campus
-Parties....lots :)
-Communal bathrooms
-Lots of freshman

Hume:
-Open for summer admits
-For students in honor program
-Newest dorms
-Co-ed by rooms

Graham Area:
-Social but not too rowdy?
-Close to union and Gator Dining Corner

Please feel free to add any more info to this thread i.e. parking, dining, distance from classes, social or not, lots of parties or not, number of freshmen, anything will help. The info here may not be totally correct, I am only going off what I've found off of other threads. Once again feel free to correct any misinfomation.

jennings- Not sure what you mean by not clean. Both broward and jennings have window A/C unit. Broward has carpet(pro-cleaned before fall starts) and jennings doesnt. A lot more girls 5 1/2 floors are girls and 2 1/2 are guys, while its even at broward. Also what ufstudent said.

broward- murphree is actually closer to science classes, but broward is closer than other dorms, frat-type, sorority-type

hume- you dont have to be honors to live in hume during the summer

Daughter is in Broward. Broward is 4/5 floors(I think the ground floor has rooms too) . The hall is configured like an "H". There are boys and girls on each side of the H (East and West) and on each floor. The boys wing and the girls wings are separated by a large common study room that has a kitchen, TV, chairs, tables. Both sides have access to this kitchen/study room but the boys card doesn't open the door to the girls wing. The girls have access to the boys wing since the trash shoot is located there. Daughter says it takes her 3-8 minutes to walk to her classes. Since she is in the business school, her Warrington Welcome (first year florida 1 credit class) was her furthest class (in Bryan Hall) and it took 8 min for her to get there from Broward. The laundry facilities are in the basement and she just swipes her gator 1 card to use the machines. There are snack/beverage machines on the first floor in the lounge. The first floor lounge also has ping pong table and other game tables, couches and big screen tv. She loves living there because of its location and she has met so many great kids....there is always someone to hang out with. She is not a big fan of the communal bathrooms but has never had to wait for a shower or toilet or sink and she says the water pressure is much better than her shower at home!

awesome stuff. interesting about that locking of hallways thing using an access card. in a way, that kinda sucks cuz lets say (me being a guy) is invited to come hang out in the girl's side, a girl would have to leave the room and come open the hallway door.

oh well, i can see why the restriction exists though

the last 4 links are of the graham area (1. the pool view off the ledge of simpson hall 3. stairs to simpson/trustler 4. upstairs is the rec area and downstairs is graham oasis)

The top two I am not sure about because I have never since this design before. It has the brink walls like most traditional, the basketball courts looks like the one at springs, but I dont know why they would need a fan in there room if the only halls with no A/C is buckman and thomas. My best guess would be springs.

Ruo, the only people that have access to every floor are the RA's, for when they are doing rounds. Resident access cards only get them into the building and onto there particular floor.

i love the room of the first two pics you posted blind316, the bed the desk/cabinets.

I have never seen those before and I've been to jennings/broward/springs/hume/trusler/lakeside/keys/thomas...yea..so If that is actually a dorm at UF, then it must be a hidden secret!

I looked at the next picture, and one of the girls had a university of findlay (UF)shirt.
I googled it and its a university in Ohio....so is that correct blink316?, is it a UF dorm just not a University of Florida one?
