Yes. First acceptance in.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I liked everything I read about Hendrix, seems like a very cool place (and lots of outdoor activites available, a big plus).

Does she have all of her applications in already?????

What can I say that others haven't already?? Congrats!! Have you told the mule and the other critters on the farm yet??

Cur, When I saw the post title, a big smile came across my face. I knew right away good news was to follow. Truly a great Thanksgiving present! It will be fun to watch the rest come in too. Congratulations!

Glad to hear it will be a happy thanksgiving! Congrats to you and your college student to be.

Curmudgeon:
SHABASH!

(No, it ain't Hebrew, though it sounds like it should be followed by '..Goy'. It's 'congratulations' in Hindi. And well deserved, at that)

Wow-That's awesome! I really like the early response schools. I looked up Hendrix after I read this. It seems like a great school. Can you adopt me for next year when I am going through this? I could really use a dad who knows as much about this as you do. Congrats!

Cur - Job well done by you and Mudgie. As you may remember mu family's first news last year was much more mixed, the truly happy stuff only coming at the end. Here it is November, happy stuff already coming down the pike in your house. Or is it a dirt road:)?. Like Marite, I hope this gives her stamina to complete all the applications she might wish she had completed when this is over. No more. No less. I'd drink to you but it's not even 8am over here....

DD just got a call from a student at U of South Carolina congratulating her on her acceptance. It's her first acceptance. She knows she has ONE choice!!

Thumper:

Great news! A wonderful Thanksgiving present for your D and you.

Cur and Thumper, congrats to all of you (that includes your progeny). I am thrilled for you. More good choices are sure to come.

Congratulations to ThumperD!!! That is wonderful news, and, as I said, more to come I am sure.

Congrats!! :) so... she didn't say, "Thank you Daddy dearest for all those hard hours you put in on that online college forum!"

(hey! what happened to my smilie????) :(

Congrats to Thumper. Now for the big envelope from that "other" SC ;).

Cur & Thumper
Congrats! hope this inspires the kids who read CC to get their applications in.

Congrats Cur and Thumper! I'm sure there will be many more to come!!

Thumper, Congratulations to you and your D too!

Congrats to Curmudgeon's D and Thumper's D! It is great to have one in hand while many of her classmates will sweat it out from January 1 through April 1. It is even better if it is high up on her list!

Cur: Congrats to Mudgie. I felt the sighs of relief all the way up here in the NW. That first one does take the knot out of the chest. Looking forward to hearing more news.

Congrats to thumper's D. Another gush of warm wind just blew by.

Congrats Thumper. It SC (yes, the "real" SC) is where she goes, Columbia is a great place to be a college student!

'Scuse Me While I Kiss the Sky! go Hendrix..
Congrats Thumper. At least five Virginians I know went to USC Columbia this fall.

lots more mail to come fellas until the daffodils fade and the party is over and one future possible life is embraced.

we were sad when the postman stopped leaving envelopes at our house and when bright young things at various institutions quit calling on the phone asking if they could answer questions...It was like being at a wonderful ball with a full dance card and only a few twinges of disappointment in April

There really are a lot of great Americans out there in CollegeLand and it is fun getting to know them
