You Are Tiger Town Bound

@Momtofourkids Well, there was the weekend and MLK day so I doubt they would be working on those days. Today is a snow day and I’m not sure what access something like Admissions would have from home. Just deducing a few things and trying to encourage @mweb136 that there is nothing to worry about yet.

@Baxter126 - yes guess I am just anxious and also attributing business hours to educational institutions which are never really the same!

@Baxter126 you have been a wealth of knowledge! Thank you since day one.

Everyday I open the mailbox and don’t see an orange envelope I panic a little. DD 's anxiety has worn off on me!

@Momtofourkids he’s gotten into 3 colleges with nursing schools already but none are direct admit. He’ll apply to nursing as a sophomore.

@labegg Waiting is hard. At least February 15th is just a month away and you now you will hear by then. Remember, most letters haven’t gone out yet. This i just my personal guess, but it seems like maybe only about 20% hear early, and maybe even less this year with so many more applications. Hang in there.

@mweb136 you’re welcome. Just passing along our experience and what other parents helped me learn!

D got email today from Clemson congratulating her but nothing in mail. She call Admissions and confirmed she was accepted! Now just waiting for letter in mail to confirm scholarship. Expecting $7,500. 30 ACT and 4.0

congrats to you both @pkgny2022!!

Has anyone heard from Calhoun Honors College yet? I got my acceptance in the mail today but it did not say anything about the honors college. Does that mean I didn’t get in?

@jackielunzy Honors college notifications for those that applied in December go out around February 15th by email. A snap mail letter follows later. In the past, no one is notified earlier than anyone else (expect perhaps the very few NSP students).

@jackielunzy would you mind sharing your stats please!!! Congrats!!

@Baxter126 How do you know about the 8000/12000 more applicants?? can you give me more info about how they are prepping? I know there are going to be some new douhit freshmen dorms but what is your anticipation?

@clemmz I have heard it from the university. Between the football success and accepting the common app this year Clemson is higher profile than ever. I’m not sure exactly what you mean by “prepping” since those numbers are referring just to applicants, not those accepted. The freshman class next year will likely be larger, but certainly not in proportion to those numbers. When they publish this year’s statistics it will be interesting to see if those numbers are accurate since they were just a projection.

@clemmz and @Baxter126 when we toured the business school this past September I was told they were takingmore business students this year because of the new school opening next year. I believe they were accepting 3,000 more if i remember correctly. Of course accepting and enrollment are two different things. If you look at the numbers of hou many were accepted lsat year and how many actually enrolled it is crazy. I guess the majority think there will be a lot of merit offered.

@clemmz Just because there are more applicants does not mean that there will be more that are accepted. They can’t accept more than they are able to house. They won’t be accepting more than the average amount until they build new dorms to accommodate for them. More applicants simply means that they will have to be more selective. The acceptance rate has definitely gone down this year because of the more people applying.

I know they will not be accepting more students. obviously the rates will decrease I was just wondering what information baxter had, thank you guys!! --also they are building new dorms (douthit) that will house 750 more enrolled freshmen and clemson usually has a 30% yield rate so acceptances rates definitely will drop but probably not as dramatically as assumed. @clemson22 @Baxter126

@clemmz I said they will be accepting more business school students not that more were applying.

Last year applications increased 12%. I will be interested to see what this year’s increase is.

We went to tour in January and the representative leading the session said that Clemson had already received as many applications up to that point as they did through May of last year!

I just heard applications went up 11% again this year.
