Doesn’t look like emails started today – can anyone confirm otherwise?

Haven’t heard a single thing about instrumental music finalists; any ideas?

Hmmm, it doesn’t seem like e-mails have started yet.

YA has tweeted at least 7-8 times that emails will be going out in mid-November. Not much longer, everyone.

Waiting is sooo stressful >_<

music/cello finalist

@cello AH CONGRATS! Did you find out today!?

Had anyone heard about photography yet?

Have all finalists been called?

have visual arts finalists been called?

The official YA Twitter and the YA people at the 305 number have been giving out contradictory information on the above (as seems to happen every year). The Twitter account said last Tuesday that all Finalists have been called, but people on CC and elsewhere are saying that they’ve called the Miami office and been told that calls are still being made.

I think when emails start going out for HM and Merit, we’ll be able to say for certain that all Finalists have been called.

Thanks for the information, ForeverFish! It seems like emails haven’t started yet, so we can’t know for certain.

Please post here if any of you receives email notification about HM or M from YoungArts!

Today, YA tweeted that they’re not sure if all Finalists have been notified yet (I’m putting my money on ‘yes’). However, they did affirm that ALL winners will know before December.

This was just uploaded to YouTube -

Seems like Honorable mention and Merit notifications will be coming out very very soon.

Not soon enough. (I just wish this didn’t make me so anxious.)

I feel like this is something I should already know, but if chosen as honorable mention or merit, do you still get to participate in regional programs? I guess I was a little confused at that part. I haven’t heard anything yet, I was just curious. I applied for writing, specifically poetry.

The regional programs are especially for HM and Merit recipients. But I think you have to live near the regional program location in order to participate, that’s how it was in pass years; (correct me if I’m wrong). The video wasn’t very helpful, it just brags about how “life changing” the regional program is; without even revealing the set criteria on how to participant in it.

Youngarts always notify everyone before Thanksgiving week. So Keep refreshing those emails all next week, because I think they are sending all notification through e-mail, if not -then check your mailboxes. Best of luck to everyone and remember YoungArts is not the world and not receiving some type of recognition shouldn’t justify your artistic merit. I know individual who have gone off to receive partial to full scholarship to artistic institution, even with being denied recognition from the YoungArt program. Art is subjective and so are art competitions.

My friend was featured in the video. I believe she was invited to participate, as she lives very close to one of the Regional programs.

I do imagine that the Regional programs are incredible, though. I won’t be going to one either way, but I’ve never heard a negative thing said about opportunities received through YA.

The regional cities are Miami, LA, and New York, right? (One of the few times I’m happy to live in SoFla.)
