2006 audition dates

Michaelsmom - Thanks for getting this Point Park info. started. I called the Conservatory today and told them we had confusion over a few dates. They are not ready to post yet, but the current calendar draft shows the following changes to your info.:

not Sat., 1/23, but correct date is Sat. 1/28 in Pittsburgh
Atlanta is not an option this year
New York City is not 2/1, but instead is Sunday 1/15
Chicago is not 2/22, but instead is Sunday 1/29

Hope this helps - we are going to try to get to Pittsburgh in fall.

We made a campus visit to Point Park this week. They told us, the dates are not set yet, but will be soon. They recognize there has been confusion around this and they are working to resolve as quick as possible.

Hi all,
I found PSU's audition info today:

www.theatre.psu.edu/admissions/baadmissions.html

Keep em comin!

Would love to have some feedback! Is it crazy to try to schedule a OCU audition on 11/19 and Elon on 11/18. Not sure how long a flight it would be or if it would be too exhausting.

Thank you
Lexismom

For those who care, Shenandoah's MT audition dates for the coming year are:

November 12
January 21
February 25
March 25
April 22

You must submit a university application before requesting an audition.

According to Mary Mowery, the new OCU MT audition requirements are:

1 classical/art song
1 classic MT song from before 1970
1 MT song of your choosing
1 2-3 minute monologue

Dance portion is for levelling only.

Lexismom - You are asking about 2 of my personal favorites. I'd say to check connecting flights, maybe on travelocity or orbitz, and don't forget to check Southwest Airlines also in and out of RDU. The flights might be your biggest issue. Otherwise, Elon's audition would be in the afternoon, and at OCU, you can choose AM or PM. Good luck!

decide early. ocu's auditions fill up fast. and good luck. how interesting about ocu's new requirements. that's a bit of a change. you see, now i wonder, since they're doing a classic early mt piece, if you could get away with a belt number for the third. i, personally, based on our experience, wouldn't try it. we are going to ocu next week for a voice lesson, will see if can get any insight.

Thanks everyone for the new posts. I can't believe our time if finally coming...the long haul begins at last! i'm pumped. :) SO, i take it the point park dates still aren't up?

Amy, PPU not on web, but they have assured me that the dates we have are correct. They are having trouble getting it posted on the web. I felt confident enough to book flights to Pittsburgh! Southwest Airlines was running some specials on Internet through today. We chose a different airline for the schedule, but it appeared other airlines were matching the price!

I have several questions about this whole process (and I'm already nervous!)

Firstly, does anyone know if OCU, Wagner, or Northern Colorado ever attend the LA or San Francisco unifides? My mom says that we can only go to two auditions out of state, and basically refuses to fly all the way to New York. How is Wagner on accepting a video taped audition, and when is their deadline?

Does anyone know Colorado's audition dates for 2006. They hadn't updated their website as of a couple days ago... Should I just figure they'll be about the same as last year?

I'm in a time crunch with OCU's audition dates. The one I would most prefer to do is November 18th. However, I have championships for marching band the 19th, which I believe start in the morning. I think they're in Long Beach this year. Is it possible to get an early audition slot on the 18th, then fly out to socal and be there by morning, managing to catch sleep somewhere in there? Because I don't think I can do the other OCU dates. Feb 11 are the San Francisco regionals, though I may be able to convince my mom to do the Feb 12th ones in LA instead, so that could work, and I feel that April is far to late in the year.

Any advice? I feel like I'm in a major time crunch now; aren't most applications out tomorrow? Senior year, here I come!

Sorry but OCU does not attend any unified auditions. You can either audition live in Oklahoma City or send a CD/tape for consideration. If you do send a tape, be prepared to wait a bit as the tape must make the rounds of all the voice faculty.

You could make it to OKC and back to CA in your time frame but it may exhaust you! The trip to CA to OKC is about five hours (assuming you are making a stop over). If you register for an audition soon, you can choose a specific time frame (morning, afternoon). If you want to do this, I would recommend an early CA flight which would get you here to OKC by the afternoon. You would need to get transportation to and from the airport (the airport is about 30 minutes from the school). If you can stay the night for the November auditions, you can see OCU's production of "Pirates of Penzance".

Applications for Oklahoma City University are available now. Remember, you need to apply for admissions to the university before you can be accepted into the music school (but you can reserve an audition spot before you submit your application). You can obtain an OCU application at www.tgimatocu.com or by calling 1-800-633-7242 extension one... M-F 8A-5PM. You can also fill out an application on-line (there is fee chraged for that).

Also, while at www.tgimatocu.com, look under "Financing Your Education". This gives a listing of the scholarship opportunities at OCU..both academic and service.

If you or any one else have any other OCU questions, feel free to send me a PM!

For reazzle this is the Point park auditions emailed to me!

I am having trouble finding the requirements for Baldwin-Wallace's auditions on their web site. Anyone have better luck?

If you go to the online application for the Conservatory, and click the link that says "audition portfolio", you'll find it at the end of the on-line app. (Pg. 8)

Thanks! I knew someone would know!

If you have questions about BW you can ask me. Im going next year

OK FOLKS!!! it is much too hazardous to read through this whole thing looking for dates, so if u have time, HELP ME OUT!!!

DATES in locations closest to SAN FRANCISCO & AUDITION REQUIREMENTS :

*UCLA?
*CARNEGIE MELLON?
*NYU?
=D smiles to you all

o btw, does anyone know, you don't have to audition to get into UCI's thing, cuz theirs is after 2 years right?

From what I've learned so far, there is absolutely no audition for theatre programs at UCI. I find it interesting though, because musick and dance both have auditions, but theatre doesn't. Also, I think this, like Wagner and UCLA, is an MT focused BA theatre. Still, it's really good for a safety, since it's non-audition. Just go to the UCI site in October, because apps won't be out until then.

thanks. i hear UCI has a really good program, with auditions after 2 years for entrance into the Drama with Honors in MT program. yikes. how competitive is UCLA in MT?
