lol! I don't know why I care so much anyways-
I can't go to penn even if they threw me in- too expensive + they prolly won't give me aid-

Because "I turned down Penn" sounds MUCH better than "I got rejected from Penn."

lol! good point!

I still think decisions will come tomorrow.

I'll rather not stress myself- after what they did last friday! meanies!

StillHoping you StillHope? or Stillthink?
I Stillhope...

thanks, thats not too bad.

i bet they're gonna let us know at like 11:59pm Western Time on Friday... and not even all of us would get to know by then........

hah, are you awake right now?

i am too. trying to clean my room.

I have applied to UPenn as a 06 fall transfer last October! Nevertheless, I have moved numerous of times. However, I did not update my new address with UPenn. In this case, will I miss out on any curcial information? A few days I phoned the office to check my admission status. However, a guy told me that he will not know if I am missing any information. In this case, what should I do? Should I just continue waiting????

hmmm- no, I'll say u call again early this morning and hopefully u'll talk to some other person who'll be nice enufdf to see how they can really help- I believe if they really want to, they can find out if u r missing sth-

Thanks a lot! Universites are being very cruel to transfer students!!! I also appied to USC, and told me that decisions are sent on rolling basis starting June 1st. This is so frustrating! =(

Hi,

I am currently a freshmen at Penn State. Do I have a higher likeliehood of getting accepted into UPenn?

hmmm...coolant I'm not sure about that correlation- is there like a transfer deal between Pennstate and UPenn?

nope. i don't think transferring from penn state gives you any advantages over transferring from a different state school.

and you guys really think we're gonna get decisions today?

coolant i am a freshman at Penn State too :D i don't feel alone

Wow! That's great! I don't feel alone too! Good luck to you! Oh by the way, how was your first year at Penn State? First year for me was pretty excuriting! I detested the tremendous classes, wield ppl, and most of all, the crappy dorms!
Which school at UPenn did you apply for? I applied for Wharton. Well, good luck too you. Wharton is the most selective school in UPenn.
Oh by the way, my name is Anthony Tsai. What's your name? Nice to know you! :)

Good Luck and hope you get accepted!

Well since PSU was the only school that actually accepted me last year, I felt a little pushed into it. Half of my high school went there and I really probably never should have applied. I did enjoy the football games but I am from phildelphia and the lack of resources and activities that a city can offer really bothered me. Not to mention I wondered how some of the kids there managed to get into Penn State Main Campus. I did think it was neat to live in the mountains but i could have never seen myself graduating from there. It was rough staying and my friends thought i was nuts for leaving Happy Valley. But to each his/her own. I appled to CAS at Penn for Psychology, and i am really hoping I am admitted. I don't have my hopes up. I applied last year and was rejected. Being from Philly though kids of lets kids have easy access to the things Penn offers. so far i have been accepted at Villanova, NYU, waitlisted at Boston College and rejected from Brown. I am still waiting on Penn. Most likely I will end up at NYU though if not admitted to Penn. I lived in Syder Hall with a roommate from hell. I was first put into a room in the basement of West Halls with a 25 year old roommate from Singapore who hated it and ended up leaving. i was alone from October to early Decemeber when they moved me. I am happy about NYU though :D best of luck.

sooo...i'm feeling that this is how it works:

3 batches: may 12th, 19th, june 2nd. let's call them 1, 2, and 3 respectively.

batch 1: best and worst qualified. (i'm pretty sure about the former, not so much about the latter. it's something like that though) they give the best prospects the most time to figure out what they're doing. note that may 12th is THREE weeks before june 2nd, which is also the same about of time alotted for a response to penn. thus, penn bases its letters to the batch 3 people based on the yield of batch 1. the people who got rejections here probably didn't meet the basic qualifications or wouldn't have been able to graduate on time due to credit restrictions.

batch 2: most people are here. nothing really needs to be said about batch 2 except for it's the middle of the pack with respect to the best and worst qualified applicants

batch 3: an interesting bunch. i think this is the equivalent of the wait list. if a lot of people in batch 1 decline, then some of these people will be granted admission. that's why the date for their letters is 3 weeks after batch 1.

if someone already figured that out, then my bad. i was just too lazy to read through 47 pages of comments.

hope that helps everyone.

Yea. I am still waiting on UPenn and USC. If I am not admitted to anyone of them, then I will be attending University of San Francisco. I think it is still best for me to go back to Cali since I am from Los Angeles, CA. Again, wish you the best!

Finally, out of Penn State! :)
