2007 PSAT Scores

Last year, the cutoff for Ohio was 211, so as long as nothing crazy happens, you’ll get semi-finalist.

219 in Pennsylvania. Good enough for state NMSQT semi-finalist in PA?

if more people take the psat, doesnt that mean that its harder to get commended? like the percentile would go up for commeded? because its a certain number who get it every year…last year like 800,000 took it and this year 1,100,000 took it.

I wouldn’t think so. Because chances are, even if 300 more people took the test theres not a very good chance that those 300 people all scored above 200 (the usual score for commended). So there’s probably a good chance some of those 300 extra did poorly, some did well for most people, and some did extraordinarily well.

RE: the increase in PSAT test takers – my guess is that the numbers are increasing due to the number of 9th and 10th graders taking the test, not that there has been an explosion of juniors. The cutoffs for Commended, NMSF, etc. are based off junior test takers.

I would not expect huge changes in the cutoffs. A couple points here and there, some up, some down.

I just got 204 (97th Pecentile) in NY does that equal a letter of commendation?

pretty much anything over 200 is commended. good job!

I still don’t know mine…burns with anger

wow… i got a 199 in NY… i probably wont get commended right?

I got one math question wrong, and i got a 75, 6 writing wrong and i got a 63!!!

I just want to get commended damnit

i got a 240. but i don’t know the curve, b/c i didnt miss any.

youre cool…

My stepson missed one question on CR and got a 78. That was 99% both nationally and for New York.

Hi! I just want to know how my score is

im a sophmore in PA and i got a 199 (96th percentile)
CR-68(99)
Math-67(98)
WS-64(97)
how is that? I feel pretty bad since i was hoping for something over 200

also i think for one question on the CR they made a mistake. I had the right answer circled on my booklet (im sure i bubbled that one in) but it said i put a different answer. Will it change my score much? And is it worth it to complain about 1 question?

thanks in advance

I got a 199 also, I know how you feel, 200 just sounds so much better. We are in the middle of 96 percentile. 198 and 200 are also 96. I think we may possibly get commended from the way its looking now

Thanks,
Thats a releif,
Congratulatiosn to everyone

Hahah spelling errors don’t say much for my 710 reading

So I’m still trying to get my scores online…and I got to my organizer–I got to my college quickstart—but then when I go there it only shows my 2006 scores and options…and on the left it says “Junior action planThe official SAT Test question of the dayScholarship SearchFinancial aid easy plannerAcademic Tracker~~Tell A friend about quickstart” But it does not say previous test scores???

Am I crazy…or doing it wrong…or what?

Help Please!?

220–anyone think that this will be enough for NM semi? Last year it was 219…I got 99%+ for cr and math and 96% for writing

Sooo.. not working anymore?

Any juniors get a 211 and it was deemed the 99th percentile, or a 205 and that was a 98th percentile? That would indicate that score cut-offs will go down from last year.
