2009 Deferrals

i called and the automated thing says that regular decision is april 1st. and then i stayed on theline and asked about early defferals and he said yea "around april 1st also" so i'm not sure what that means but i'm going to just assume we'll get it wednesday.

originally got deferred, now waitlisted for fall '09, and guaranteed admission for fall '10 as a transfer

I was deferred EA, and now I’m waitlisted. I was accepted to the Cardiff University but not Binghamton? They must have a metaphorical phallic object shoved in some unspecified location.

1370 / 1940 SATs
93 GPA

keleso-i cant believe you didnt get into bing. it must have been so random this year.
congrats on cardiff

Keleso- Binghamton is completely random and has no logic when it comes to offering admission decisions. Congrats on Cardiff.

Loving the reference to the “phallic object”.

im officially never getting anything from binghamton, no rejection no acceptance no nothing

D hasn’t heard anything yet from Bing either…just got good news from a really really awesome other school so starting to not care.

Muffy: give it up…what other school so we can be happy for you and yours???

It’s one of those bizarre things where EVERYONE is saying I can’t believe SHE got in so if any of my neighbors are reading this they’d know who I am immediately. So she’s kind of focused elsewhere…but we’d still like that big green envelope…

D rejected, but has great alternative, good luck to all the acceptees and non-acceptees; college is what YOU make of it!!!

REJECTION, came today via snail mail dated March 17th, I was given the option of waitlist.
Stats: 1310/1600 1970/2400 SAT GPA 94
Oh well, goodbye Bing
Good luck to others!l

i cnt even begin to think i have a chance in hell if people with your stats are getting rejected. i have a 3.54 gpa my first semester in college…

yup, waitlisted.
so basically rejected…

1340/1600 2010/2400 SAT; 93 GPA
School of Management.

lsb and oh heyyy- That is ridiculous that people with your stats were rejected. I would write a nice, respectful letter to the director of admissions stating you have many other options. I would also mention that you are concerned with OOS students being admitted with sub 1200 and 90 averages, as well as disruptive basketball players being admitted with a 600 sat score. Binghamton really ***** the bed this year.

Lsb did you apply to the school of management? I know that school is much harder to get into since it’s ranked top 40.

Yes, I did apply to Scool of Management. This was my only rejection out of 12 schools. I was accepted to the business schools at Geneseo,Penn State,American, Indiana University, UMass, UConn, UMaryland,Stony Brook ,Northeastern ,UDelaware, and New Paltz , so I have other options, many with scholarships, yet I was a little surprised that I get better treatment from some of the OOS schools and private schools than from my own state school. I had strong leadership positions including Treasurer of National Honor Society, Vice President of Jr. National Honor Society and Youth Leader at my church, and many ec’s and I was an AP scholar with honor. Just to give you an idea how tough Bing was this year.

i think ea deferrals got the shaft this year. it seems as though the deferrals were only considered after the reg decisions were made. and obviously there was no more room. i actually havent heard of any ea deferrals getting in. they either got waitlisted with guaranteed transfer, waitlisted, or denied.
has any ea deferral been accepted?

I know of one person who was deferred who did obtain an acceptance to the School of Management but the vast majority of people who were deferred at my school were denied.

student here in NJ accepted after EA deferral…
