Michael W. thanks for your help. I'm planning on writing a really great essay and maybe that will help me alot.

ifailedcalculus- i would say apply your ec's look good for stern. the great thing is if you don't get in this time around you can apply again when you are a sophomore and they will look more at your college work. stern is very selective but the only thing you have to lose is a little time and $65.

rsb825- thanks! good luck!

nyu44- i can tell by your name you love nyu, so i am sure your essay is going to be great!

im keeping this thread on the first page.

nyu44, lets keep this thread alive! haha, have you been working on your application too?

NYUjosh, i actually finished my application already. All i have to do is submit it. How about you?

wow im UNBELIEVABLY jealous haha. how did you get it done so fast? I'm sort of delaying on it, I keep starting and then stopping because it's almost surreal that I'm having to do this entire process over again, and I'm scared of the decision! (i know, dumb reason, but its sort of the main obstacle at this point)

i feel like a nerd telling you this, but i started the application the day it went online and i been working on the essays since then. I'm really scared of the decision, but i'm also scared I might not be able to attend. Unless the financial aid pulls through.

wow, well at least it's out of the way now! thats smart, i should have definitely started working on it earlier. aww, I hope the financial aid pulls through, dont worry, just keep thinking positive thoughts. where are you from?

wait. Other than on embark where it says list your activities in order of importance where else did you guys highlight your EC's?? In the additional information section?

hey cherrybomb, yes the additional information section would work, although i've been told by a lot of people that most applicants should not have to add on to the 7 or so slots provided in the EC's section (an nyu rep told me that they want to see your streamlined EC's and not just a slew of different things you've done). but personally, i don't think it'll hurt either. hope this helps!

Hey guys, I have a question about the admissions essay. The big essay "topic D" on embark.

Is it absolutely tragic if one should write more than 500 words?
I'm on 529 and I don't really care to eliminate 29 words...

What is this "embark" essay? I'm using the Common App and don't see it.

Please discuss your interest in transferring to New York University. Explain your reasons for wanting to leave your current college or university (or if not currently in attendance, why you left the last institution you attended), and describe how you feel your educational goals can be better achieved at NYU. (500 words)

Is there a supplement for NYU for common app? I thought there was when I first applied.

NYUjosh, I'm from pennslyvania if that is what you mean. How about yourself? Just wondering are you applying to any other schools except nyu?

Yes, there's a supplement but I don't think it has that question.

Yeah the common app and the embark application has two different essays. The one on the common app is personal statement and the one on embark is why you want to go to nyu?

Thanks, nyu44! Do they prefer one over the other?

I actually pefer the NYU one over the common app because I feel that I can get tell NYU more about why i want to go there than the common app version.

That's true. I guess I'll use that one because I have a lot of specific reasons for wanting to go there.

rsb-I know what you mean. I'm already over the word limit. haha. What college are you coming from?
