First class/Express mail?

I got into Boston College as English major just yesterday…haven’t heard from NYU yet. I reckon today is judgment day x____x

I just called and was told I’m waitlisted

who’s accepted today!!! and…anyone got rejected?

@Clint I used University ID i dont’ have a SSN…

I am nervous everyday I woke up…OMG~~

al al al al allllll el dorado

NYUtransferapp what school did you apply ?

I was just told I was not accepted to Gallatin by Maggie.

Still waiting from NYU. I called two days ago and told them I needed a decision by today because of a deposit conflict. I got into BC so the deposit conflict is not an issue, but I’d still like to know if I got into NYU…

EDIT: Mr. Smiley, are you able to make a NetID? I noticed your inability to do so, but you appear to have gotten in regardless. I can’t make a NetID either, so I’ve been panicking.

not sure I didn’t receive it my dad did, but it came with the normal mail

Sethosayher, congrats on BC! I got in, too! There’s only 135 of us :D

But if you get into NYU would you pick it over BC? I think I’d pick BC…

Every time I call NYU to get some info about my application I get a student ambassador telling me I should hear “in a couple of days”(which they’ve been telling me for two weeks). How is everyone getting in touch with actual admissions couselors?

I don’t know. I like NYU’s diversity and urban setting, but the lack of a campus and a cohesive school spirit are turn offs. BC is gorgeous, and even though I’m an atheist I find the Jesuit tradition intriguing and inspiring. But BC’s population does seem rather homogeneous…I’m a nerdy indian, will I fit in!? =P

In the end, my parents might force me to attend NYU. They’re cosigning a lot of things, so I suppose I don’t have an option if I get in.

@tshudel: call ugrad admissions and ask to speak to an admissions officer at the school you applied to. They usually don’t probe too deep, but if they do just tell them that there was an issue with your application that you believe can only be resolved by speaking with an officer. Worked for me.

Finally got my admission letter to Stern. The envelope is dated May 12 and I was able to log into NYU home since May 8. I guess it takes NYU a week send the envelopes.

@Clint how do you log into NYU home? from Where?
where do you live? I live in boston, dunno how long its gonna take for the mail to get here

nvm…i need the NetID, which I cannot get

NYT: I applied to CAS :(

Does anybody know the likelihood of getting off the wait-list, or how many were put on it? I’ve seen that they admit anywhere from 4%-53% of students on them so idk what to believe. . .

@NYUtransferapp

You could write them a personal letter (not e-mail) stating why you want to go to NYU and give some additional information (overnight priority shipping). If you live close by, you could maybe set up an appointment or call the admissions office at talk to one of the admission counsel members.

@MrSmile
I live in Texas

Thanks for the information, I’m going to do that ASAP. Does anyone think there is any use in sending my final grades if my application is still under review?

@Clint: I am thinking of heading to New York tmr and see if I can talk to an admi person about whatever they might want to know. What do you consider this move? I have a lot of things about myself to tell them that were unable to include in the application. Will I have a chance to do so? I will first call them to know if the decision is made though…

Thx

@tshudel: it will surely help if ur grades look good! Just another promise of your persistent level of working! But inform them that ur gonna send it!
