2009 Spring Transfers to NYU

Personally I think rankings do matter in some professions, but my friend adamantly argued that the education is more important.

[/quote]
Rankings don't mean everything, but they are often indications of good education. If a college is ranked #1 for Economics in the country, it is safe to assume that you can get a good education in Econ there.

hahah yupp those reasons too!

So whats going on at USD on this saturday night?

nothing.. i guess..

Do you live at home or on campus housing?

coolant
i am applying to USC too, if i don't get into NYU, i already started the application. NYU is #1 for sure though.

this waiting thing is horrible!!

Love3qualsHate & coolant
at least you guys live in big cities like LA and San Diego, there is nothing to do where i live!

MichaelW:

Where do you live?

I don't have a car so I am really stuck on campus. Since school started, the only place I went were Mission Valley and Fashion Falley. I can't wait to go home! = ="

I live at home this semester ;[

that makes this school even worse!

LA is not all it's cracked up to be...unless you're a movie star haha The only exciting thing I ever do is surf and the occasional club, but I cant go surfing at night ;/

New York, though, has a lot to do! Imagine we can go clubbing one night, an art exhibit the next, a house party the next, and a runway show the day after hahah

!

hahahahahahahhahahahah! Coolant I just read the comment you left me on facebook!

Yeah I'm 21.....minus 2 :] and that's not alcohol in my cup it's blue lemonade lol

Anyone else have facebooks on here?

Very true... so if we all get into Nyu and you are going to go clubbing one night, a concert the other night, house party.. let me know! =)

Everytime I come here there's 2 new pages worth of posts to read =p And everytime I leave I just wanna go to NYC more and more! .. might have to take a weekend trip to NYC now, would love to check out the school but was going to wait to see if I got accepted first.

Anyone else that uses Facebook?

coolant
i live an hour away from LA. it's in between LA and Palm Springs. it's really boring in part because i'm still at home commuting 30 minutes every monday-friday

Love3qualsHate
i'm 21 minus 2 too! i tried surfing with my friend once and it is so much harder than it looks, and it looks hard! New York has a lot of stuff, everything except for surfing i guess! haha. i don't have a facebook but i'll make one soon, so if i don't get in and you guys do, i can live vicariously through you guys!

williams348
i know, it's lots of posts. i feel like we all kind of know each other now and are bonded by this common dream/ goal of getting into NYU, it's great, hopefully we all get in!!

I agree with MicahelW! We are all confronting the process together.

I have started the UC application for admissions for fall 09 for a back up. However, I really hope that I will be able to get into NYU.

Good luck guys! AND WHO HAVE FACEBOOK? =)

wmplax: what year is your gf in at Princeton? I am also coming from there.

ritzbitz--she is a sophomore; what is your name? I might know you...people who don't like princeton tend to bond over certain issues--primarily the fact that they don't like princeton. Can't get your fill of terrace/tower/ivy?

I am "21 minus 2" as well. Or, as some people might say, 19.

Also, anyone who actually wants to come to NY for a visit before accepting should let us know; we could easily show you around and give you the "real" (in the sense that it is not affiliated with any admissions office, etc) deal on what actually occurs here and what you should expect.

I have facebook also :-) you can search using rcl268@aol.com

lol wmplax I hate when I see the "fake" Admissions tours. They're like "Here's Bobst, our lovely library!"
I just want to jump in and add "It's a popular student suicide location! In fact, the floor tiles were modeled after an M.C Escher drawing and made so that from the top floors, they look like spikes, to discourage people from jumping!" (which I never got, b/c suicidal people aren't gonna be discouraged by fake-spikes, it's a quick death either way)

"Next stop on the tour...the beautiful Washington Square Park!" It's like, yeah, where you can go to score terrible weed, and NYU paid $1 mill to move over a fountain 10 ft, so half of NYC hates them...did I mention there's thousands of corpses buried underneath, it used to be a burial ground!

And remember the Triange Shirtwaist Factory Fire building, where hundreds of innocents died? That's an NYU building, so enjoy class in there! :) They don't mention that on the tours...

stargazerlilies
they certainly don't mention that on the tours!!

@everyone applying
so is your application complete? who on here is still missing things like transcripts?

RCL: I just added you! It's so weird putting a face to you guys lol

MichaelW: Yeah I think my HS transcript is probably still missing; I'm gonna call tommorow to make sure. So you live near palm springs? I go there all of the time cuz of my parents, except I hate it lol so many old people!
