So when I called today to cancel on the study abroad program they said that I'f I stayed they'd give me a 5000 dollar scholarship....do you guys think that if I get into NYU they'll let me take the study abroad program while still being enrolled in NYU?

I'm done the 19th :[ ahhh so much more time

Hello Hello !
Sorry for the late respond... But don't forget there is a 6hrs difference with Paris..
Anyway, to talk about myself...
I am french and english, 19, going to a french university of law (there you specialize from your first year of college), and i am currently in my second year.
I got a Baccalaureate with 15/20 (supposed to be very good in the french system) and average grades las year, something like 11.5... The problem is that french grades are much lower than american grading, meaning that a A represents 14 or 15 in the french system.. But im not sure NYU knows about that ! (I mentionned it on my app). Plus the first year in my university is a REAL *****, they only let 30% of the global students pass on to their second year.. Anyway, boring boring.. I only hope i will get in !!! I can see im not the only one not to be able to work...Its terrible !! I cant even do my homework !! Anyway, enough talking about me, do you know when they start giving these decisions?
Its horrible to be waiting for so long !! I am about to have a nervous breakdown !

Love3qualsHate
maybe you can ask if you can defer the enrollment to like summer or fall. i would call them and ask right away. $5000 for free is great!

Elly B.
i can't do my homework either! and the waiting is horrible!!
they said on the website they start giving out decisions mid-november which would be now, but over the phone they say december. i think some of us should be finding out soon, because some spring transfers from last year found out around this time.

every time i open the mailbox i get the worst feeling (anticipation and fear) in my stomach and i hope we all find out today so we don't have that horrible feeling anymore!

Hahahaa yeah, at least we dont need any roller coaster to get adrenaline in our blood these days =D
Anyway, where do you all come from?
I personnally come from Paris.. Next?

I come from Gilbert, AZ. I doubt anyone can match that. :)

Boston, Massachusetts here. I love Boston but I love New York City way more, everytime I visit that city I always leave wishing I could live there. C'mon NYU, make my dream come true!

Sunny Los Angeles here :]!

Yeah I asked the question on the forums....I was thinking about it and 5000 isnt that much...its only like 1/6 of what the program costs so ehh haha

ugh!! still nothing in the mail from nyu!

ugh my app isn't complete!

whos app is?

YAY! Just got this email:

Thank you.

that's good they e-mailed you, i was wondering when they were going to start doing that!

my application has been complete for a while now, so i think a decision has already been made and i'm hoping to get something in the mail soon.

they will probably receive your transcript soon and then tell you your accepted!

Gah! According to the Admin I spoke with today my app is complete!!! SO NERVOUS! They told me I wouldn't hear before december 1st :-/...michaelW I think you will be the 1st one to hear lol!

rcl268
haha, i hope we all hear soon! it's great that your app is complete now, so at least a little bit of stress is gone.

i went on the message board nyu has for admission questions and someone had asked when decisions would be out for january admission and the answer was...
"We will START in November, but most January transfers will not hear until December."

so i guess many of us will probably hear in december...

they are willing to take faxed copy transcripts?

coolant
i think transcripts have to be sealed so they know they are official. did you send your transcripts? if you did they probably have them but haven't put it in your file yet.

I think what they mean is that they'll accept faxed transcripts for the time being (just to evaluate your file) but you're going to have to send in official ones eventually for their records.

I actually sent mine in and then called to make sure they got them and, sure enough, they said that it probably wouldn't go through until tommorow.

Dang trying to get transcripts to NYU is harder that underwater basket weaving!

haha, i know it is hard!
they have no idea how scary it is when you call and they say we don't have your transcript!!

i know i'm saying this everyday, but hopefully/maybe some of us will hear tomorrow!

Lol mike, one of these days you'll be right =p

its getting close ladies and gentlemen...AAAAHHHHHHHHH

im going to get rejected i know it...and then im going to get ****ed off because i know that they should have accepted me...why have you forsaken me nyu?!
