2009 Spring Transfers to NYU

coolant
it seems different schools send out that credentials missing letter in different ways. Love applied to CAS and they sent it in email form. I applied to steinhardt and they sent it through the mail which obviously takes longer to reach me. Not sure where you applied but I'm sure it's on the way!

My high school faxed my high school transcript to the fax your posted on the thread. I hope it is the same fax.

maybe! You should have called though I'm not sure if each school has their own fax number.

Man....it's already the 21st! I would have thought that I'd be celebrating or mourning right now, no dying of anxiety and stress. I'm on here 24/7 on my iphone checking if anybody updated haha I'm so nervous!

Wait a minute!
At NYU, does each undergraduate college handle its own admission?

coolant got aim?

if it's not too much trouble make sure you guys post your stats when you get your decision letters (im applying for the fall and im nervous with you guys but i'm excited!)

p.s. is it easier to get in as a sophomore transfer? i'm applying to steinhardt which I heard was easier? Can anyone confirm that? / Who else here is applying to steinhardt?

Coolant:

Yeah each school handles its own admissions (I think)

Cherry:

Well it depends on your HS record; if you did very well in HS then it will be easier as a soph transfer as much emphasis will be placed on that coursework. If it's not good, then it's more difficult.

so this will probably be my last post until i receive a rejection letter im the mail. i have two ten page papers to write and after that finals!! ugh!

cherrybomb- i would not say it is easier to get in as a sophomore, but i would apply anyway! nyu takes into account a lot of different factors when you apply, but your high school record will be taken into account more.
i'm applying to steinhardt and i am hoping to hear back soon. it's not as competitive as stern or cas, but you never know what they're looking for! good luck!

any decisions yet?

i have not received a decision yet and i still have those papers to write, but i can't get my mind off of nyu!!

this is too much you guys!

if i don't get in i will have to finish the other applications i started for other schools which i don't want to do at all! ugh!

how is everyone else holding up!?

terribly

im getting really po'd that nyu would tell transfers it would start sending out decisions early-mid november...i mean they process applications every year, they had to have known that that wasn't happening...but why would they do that?

i know i know misplaced anger, but seriously frustrating

i still think its about 12 days before the first person gets a decision from nyu

i have 6 papers due by the end of the semester and a final as well...sheesh

duffle....
Everyone on this thread is extremely frustrated! You are not by yourself. I was so frustrated with the process of waiting and the drama happening in my life that I brusted into tears in my literature class.

Love,
I only have MSN Messenger.

coolant-

if you want to vent about how nervous/frustrated/whatever amalgam of emotions you are feeling my AIM is goknicks82...

duffle,

Do you have facebook?

Sorry guys, but I really need to complain:

USD defined a core curriculum that is bizarre and vague. I do not see the positive effects on USD’s pathetic core curriculum. Especially the following courses really gets on my nerves!

Three theology classes (two must be upper division)
Two philosophy classes
One ethic course
Two science courses

A well-structured general education curriculum does not turn an individual into a more “well rounded” person. I did not pay 45K a semester to receive an inferior education. I paid to pursue an education that will prepare me to face this competitive environment. This school simply wants more money.

Talking about money, the financial aid officers at USD are the most retarded people I have ever encountered. My dad applied for a Parent Plus Loan to pay for my tuition. However, the school set an unacceptable budget for me.

Do they know how much books cost? Do they know how much food costs on campus? The answer is NO!

I requested for an increase for a budget so my parents can apply for another PLUS loan, and the financial officer at USD told me tons of excuses that lacks are unacceptable. They just don’t want to increase my budget. They are not the ones providing the funds. Why can they be more compassionate with students? I do not owe the school a single penny, I just need extra funds for airline tickets. They are so iffy about not providing the funds for me to purchase a ticket back to Taiwan. They told me: "Your parent's address are in the states!" However they are in Taiwan right now! I am not deciving them, I can even supply them with evidience. This goal will be achived with a PLUS loan!
This semester I went to the One Stop Office everyday to deal with my loan issues. This is just too stressful!

I turned in my sixth appeal on Friday and the Director won’t be back unit December 1. It seemed like she is always on break! The school is paying her to work and not go on breaks/ vacation all the time! This is insane! The primary funding for the school is tuition. In other words, a portion of my tuition went to pay for a lazy financial aid director!

coolant-

no i do not have facebook...sorwy

im curious as to what everybody on here is like in real life...i dont even know the gender of people on here...ive kind of just assumed that everybody was a male...weird

Well Im a girl =)

dufflebagjesus/ Elly B
i actually assumed everyone was a guy too, except Elly because of your name. that is weird. maybe because i am a guy. i don't know!?

just think some of us will be in New York soon and going to nyu!! isn't that crazy! i hope it is all of us!
