My parents are supportive of me going to NYU because it means cheaper tuition for them! It is going to make my life very difficult if I don't stay in NY :-/...nervous!

lol yeah that's gotta be a major selling point if going to NYU is actually cheaper than.. anything really. My parents really have no incentive to support me going there, they'll let me go of course.. not that they have much choice in the matter, they just won't approve. But that doesn't matter, cause like Michael, I'm 100% set on going as well!

haha yea the teachers union thing definitely helps. Otherwise NYU is so expensive/ worth it haha!

considering my parents are helping me pay for an apartment that I moved into yesterday right near NYU.... they are sort of with me on hoping I get in!

hey just wondering... what backup schools do you guys have???

My parents are pretty supportive about me going to NYU. Actually, they really want me to go to NYU. If I get it, I am 100% going; no excuses.. period :)

However, going to NYU means that my parents have to take out an increased amount of PLUS Loan to pay for my tuition, room, board, and personal expenses. However, they are totally fine with that. Furthermore, a NYU degree HAS an extremely high return on investment (ROI).

Hope we all get our decisions after Thanksgiving (like the first week of December!)

That I'm not sure I agree with 100% but I definitely agree it's worth going there just for the experience. A tier 1 school in an awesome location, so you know you're getting a great education and excellent networking opportunities in an amazing city. The experience is why I want to go, not necessarily because I think a degree from there will make me a lot more money but hey if it happens to do that.. always a plus!

i really don't have any backup schools, in the sense where i know i will get in. but if not nyu, then my second choices are bu and usc. but number one is nyu!

Someone could hear back today you guys! coolant, i actually hope we get our decisions before thanksgiving or as soon as possible!

I just started my UCLA application...

ahh I want NYU :[

I just called the undergraduate admissions office and asked her whether theyve sent the decisions yet and she said that they hadn't and that we'd find out in mid-december..

kinda ****es me off, if they say theyre gonna do it in mid nov.. why are they gonna be a month late.. now i ofc dont know how much that woman i talked to knows about it.. but yea..
they know its gonna be a huge decision for ppl, many are moving to a different city and some even a new country, feels like you should get at least 1 month to get ready..
i have a lease until march with my 2 roomates, so if i go to nyu i need to find someone else to take my place too.. and i need to get a new apartment, and i need to change the information on my financial aid thing i get from sweden..
so annoying..

anyway.. i dont have any backup schools, if i dont get into nyu, i will apply for some UC schools, usc, and probably a couple of others up at the north east coast, but that would be for fall transfer :) dont have enough credits for transfer to uc schools yet anyway :)

and, my parents are totally fine with me going to nyu, theyre even happy, being from sweden, NYC is A LOT closer to home than hawaii :p so theyre pretty stoked about it and also because they know its a great education and a great opportunity :)

man.. i was hoping i could announce going/not going to nyu at thanksgiving.. oh well..

AHH!!
is nyu serious?!?!? this is nerve-racking, every time i open the mailbox i almost have a heart-attack and it's for nothing because nothing ever comes from nyu!
on the nyu 2008 thread people heard by now! people heard by now!!!
i have to finish the uc application soon b/c the deadline is the last day of november!

sorry to sound annoying, but i really thought i would have found out by now and i'm just venting.

I do have a few backups, I'm probably the only one here who's more in love with the city than the school. I would love to attend NYU more than anything, but in the [likely] event that I don't get in, I'd still be happy at another school in that great city.

Hmm, I just got accepted today for Spring '09, so I guess the decisions are going to start coming in...

oh, we're so vulnerable right now. please don't toy with us, lol.

If it's true, how did you find out? just checked the mail?

stats?!

what!?!? seriously ? haha
if ur kidding, ur an ass :P
aight well, if u got urs, then the lady i talked to is a b.....
i hope ur serious, cuz then were all gonna get ours soon too :)

good luck everyone :) hope we all get in!

aaaah

what program did you apply to?

stats would be nice

congrats if your not pulling our strings

congrats on that.. i hope its true anyways..

ahh everyone on here has higher stats than me ! :[ I'm feeling pessimistic.:[

On NYU's website:

"The majority of admissions decisions for Early Decision applicants will be mailed toward the end of the week of December 8th. (Please note that we said "the majority" and not "all".) Most of the remaining decisions will be in the mail by the end of the following week."

What happened to transfers?
