2009 Spring Transfers to NYU

williams348- i am a lot more anxious now!

Love3qualsHate- i would definitely not say que sera sera if my house burned down haha
and..."Besides, if you are offered admission, the accept rate is 100% for you!" wow! haha!

i won't be able to check my mail till like 2:30 pacific time! ugh! i really just want to hear back, good or bad! it's like most of us are in this weird limbo...

Cherrybomb--if you applying for the fall of 09, why the participation on the spring forum?

Michael:

I know exactly what you mean about the limbo. I feel the same way; there seems to be nothing set as of right now. Everything is so fluid, and i hate it!

I am sorry to hear that you are rejected. If you are rejected, then I will probably receive the same decision because my stats is worse than yours.

Good luck to all!

wmplax- You got into NYU for Fall 2008 and you attend the school. Why the participation on the spring forum?

Saw a big envelope... for that brief 1.5 seconds I thought it was from a school, but it wasn't.. back to schoolwork

today is the day guys!

I know Im a bit late...But, congratulations Duffle !!! Im so happy for you !! (god I wish I was you).. Still nothing for me in my inbox... Im really getting worried, especially bc I need to get a visa SOON (if im accepted)...
Dont you think it's a made up excuse to say its the first time they had so many applicants for spring transfer in the history of the school to make us feel better? Personnaly, i believe its crap... But who knows !

I don't know, I did read somewhere that they received something like 36,000 applications in all this last fall semester which was record breaking as well so it wouldn't surprise me if there were a record breaking number of transfers for the spring.

why so many transfers though? !!

wow, some of the ppl at nyu are either really misinformed or just lying.. :P
i just called their undergraduate admissions office, and i was like,

'hi i applied for the spring 2009 semester as a transfer, and i was wondering if youve sent out any of the decisions yet?'

shes like : 'no we havent, but were gonna be sending them out during this week'

its like wt.f?

They haven't sent out any at all? Period? If that's the case then some people lied, but I'm sure they must have sent out SOME. I was reading the forums on NYU.edu and someone posted a question about her being accepted and wondering what to do next..

Gotta love college administration, my guess would be they're just misinformed, the people answering the phones probably aren't the ones who actually review the applicants. At my school you generally have to jump through hoops to get a specific question answered. I had a question about my loan and I was transferred to 3 different departments (financial aid to accounts receivable to the treasury) before finally being able to get ahold of the loan officer.. who just directed me back to another department.. who told me they couldn't help.

yup, i just called them again, oh an btw, i did not doubt the people on here for a second just so u know... thats what i meant by the undergraduate admissions ppl either lying or being misinformed :)

anyway, this time i asked more questions and the person sent me on to another one, and she said that they will be sent out within the next week... and when i said that i knew some ppl had already gotten theirs, she said that yes some had already been sent out, but that does not mean that those of us who are still waiting are not in, it has nothing to do with that :) so thats good ^^

and she also told me that my app was still under revision :o scary..

uuummm

i dont think anybody is, but if anybody doubts that i was accepted im more than happy to take a picture with my acceptance letter and post a link to it

just give me the word

still nothing in the mail for me! i am really preoccupied with school at the moment and it sucks adding nyu and there not telling me my admissions status bs.

anyway, i am over this waiting thing!

hopefully tomorrow you guys....

Yo cherrybomb man you have a terrible attitude...I was just asking, and yet anytime anyone asks you anything--me, that other guy that you evidently were offended by before, etc.--you get very defensive; I'm telling you right now, mate--NYU's atmosphere is not the place you would want to be if you are actually this easily upset.

And, as I said before, I began posting on here with my friend a little while ago out of boredom, but became interested in it all together.

You pretend to be an authority on a lot of issues that you have absolutely no idea about. You need to seriously chill out; it's not constructive, appropriate, or representative of the predominant attitude at NYU.

hehe no dont worry duffle, i doubt anyone here would doubt you :) and as you can see we both said that we dont think anyone on here lied.. i see no reason to lie since we dont know who u are IRL anyway so :P

yea this whole nyu thing is so freakin annoying... hate it.. can they please just realize that they want me and email me tomorrow :P pleeeaasse :P

i really hope i get in :) and i wish the rest of you guys good luck :) 250-300 being accepted out of 1100 means about 1/3 of us will get in, theoretically and assuming that the people who are not on here have the same spread in quality of applications and that they are not all 4.0 with a billion EC's and just super good :p

wmplax- First of all you need to relax. I answered your question in the same format as the one you posed. It's the internet so other than reading the words on the screen everything else you're inferring about me: bad attitude, authoratitive figure, defensive, and me being "easily offended" are all things that you're assuming. You don't know anything about me so I'm not sure how you can make any of those statements.

I'm not upset at all, why would I be? It's a forum. I don't know you, you're not relevant to my life so that would be ridiculous for me to get upset about anything.

When I make statements I don't sugarcoat them or speak safely as to not hurt people's feelings so my words come off "mean" but that's not really my problem. If you want to be overly sensitive than you can do just that.

In addition, I'm sure I'll be fine at NYU seeing as how I grew up in New York City which is a tough place in itself and I'm sure you have or will come into contact with people like me (the person you think I am) at some point during your time at NYU. Or maybe you wont, we all know at large universities many people/things go unnoticed especially at a school like NYU with no real campus.

I'm not exactly sure why you're trying to attack my character, but if it helps you sleep at night then go right ahead that doesn't matter to me.

AND as I said before, much earlier in the thread, I am keepign up with this thread so I can follow the process of people applying to NYU since it's clearly my school of choice.

I did the same thing as a freshman last year and I distinctly remember your posts from the 2008 thread, I believe I may have posted in there once or twice.

This banter is useless and distracting for the people waiting for their decisions so this will be my last post dealing with emotional people.

wow...it's like a full on war zone here!

Let's just chill and try to keep our spirits up. We'll be finding out really soon so we need all of the support we can get in these coming weeks.

anyway, still no decision. It's eating away at me slowly lol
