well, in terms of stats Gallatin. But it's harder to be admitted there on other terms; you have to have a good reason for wanting to go there. You have to want to study something unique and specific that only Gallatin can give you (since you design your own major).

My advice? I say don't apply to any NYU school just to get to NY and be in the city. Apply to the school that has the major that you want to study and houses the things you are interested in.

yall? i thought you were from NY? u have 2 days, dave. and if u ever ignore my call again, me and joey will not let you in on our "inside" jokes, ya dig?!?

you said youd be in the city... so me and joey were "nice" enough to call you... we'll see if next time we show you the same courtesy... pimp bahahaha

Hi! Any gallatin transfers- could you please let me know how your credits from your previous school transferred over and how scheduling/picking classes goes? Do any classes transfer into the "gallatin k-credit requirements" ? Thanks

no, transfer credits dont take care of the k-20's, they can take out some of the other requirements at gallatin though...your going to have to make an appointment to get talk with your advisor (rahul hamid) to go over your schedule asap. once you submit to him your plan of study and he signs it off, you have to drop it off to the 8th floor of the gallatin building. then they will remove the stop from your registration and you may register online using albert, although your going to have a hard time finding classes at this point

you should have gotten a tentative statement of xfer credit when you were accepted...you also have to send in your AP scores and final semester scores from your previous school

no, I'm actually applying to nyu for fall 09. i'm kinda concerned about being able to graduate on time which is why I asked about transfer credits. did a lot of your credits transfer and what classes must be taken through gallatin, do you know? also how many people would you say were at orientation (i'm curious as to how many gallatin transfers they take each semester), & was it hard to get into classes that you wanted?. thanks for your help.

I lost some credits in the xfer process, there is a very good chance that you will need another semester to graduate no matter where you xfer. there is a 32 k credit requirement that all xfers must meet...there are other requirements as well....it wasn't as hard to get into classes as i thought it might be, i actually got into all the classes that i wanted to but that is probably very unique....about 40-50 people or so were at orientation
