<p>I know this is a long shot, but are there any other senators who still have open applications for the summer session this year? P_P I just found out about it today and am kicking myself realizing that if I had found it two weeks earlier I would have been able to apply ahh</p>

Senator Lautenberg’s application for the summer session is typically not due until April…The Senate leadership does not distribute Senate Page sponsorships for the Summer until the end of March. Hope that helps.</p>

Page sponsorship differs by the party of the Senator. A Republican Senator can sponsor a page every session. For the Democratic Senators, Page sponsorship is on a rotating basis…Thus, Senators can get picked for every session, only a semester or for only the summer and some do not have the opportunity to sponsor a page. As well, Senators are also told if they can sponsor a male or female. (Because of Dorm Restrictions)</p>

<p>Oh my god. I presume you’re from Arizona. I have no idea why, after several years of trying, I can’t get him to accept any applications.</p>
<p>He’s been in Washington for a while, too, so he should have priority in these matters. Anyhow, I’ve known his ‘page coordinator’ personally for a number of years and still this doesn’t help. </p>
<p>Senator Kyl was given a few appointments, but now he’s gone. And Senator Flake has been too occupied with other matters to bother with a response about the program.</p>

<p>Until recently, John kyl was the senior senator from Arizona so that could be a reason.
Also, some senators just do not like to sponsor pages…McCain could be one of those Senators.</p>
<p>H, I’m only in eighth grade but I’m so glad to have found this program at an early age. What should I do to start preparing for an acceptance (hopefully) or to gain an acceptance ? Will this program look nice on a college application ? I’m from NY but will be attending school in PA, Can I apply through more than one senator ? Thanks guys !</p>
<p>It’s really a tossup to see what will look “good” for your application. I’d say to keep your grades up and get involved in things such as youth councils or student governments. It does looks nice on your college applications - it’s one of the most exclusive programs in the country. You can apply through more than one senator, but senators typically sponsor a page that reside in their state.</p>
<p>After you have been officially nominated by your Senator (I’m from TN Senator Alexander for the second summer session) when will you hear from the Page office? Does this mean you’re in or what?</p>
<p>From what I’ve read, after you’ve been nominated, they send your name to the majority (Democrat)/minority (Republican) leader (whichever applies to you) and then the leader selects from there… I’m not really sure though</p>
<p>Hi everyone! I’m currently just a freshmen. I just received word that I got accepted to do a State Senate Page and am SO excited. But my biggest goal is to do one in Washington DC. Will my experience in doing the State Page help me in the Application process? I keep my grades at a very high standard (well above 3.0) and am in all sophomore classes as a Freshmen and am one of the only ones. I live in Washington (Spokane) do I have a decent chance? I’m thinking of applying to A LOT of senators. Or is that a bad idea?</p>
<p>@Brb06x2 I am also a freshman and really really really want to do this program too! I live in South Florida and mailed my senators, Marco Rubio and Bill Nelson, to see if they can help me in the process or appoint me in the coming years. I have not heard from them but I still have hope. I am in 3 Honors classes and 1 AP, World History. Next year I will be in 6 Honors classes and 1 AP, Human Geo. My underweight GPA is a 3.6 and my weighed in a 4.45. I’m also into volunteering a lot (church, choir, school library, ect…) and I am involved in an after school music program and Model UN. Contact your local senators to see if they can do anything first of all. Then, if nothing works out, you should apply to senators that you have connections to. Connections is a key factor into getting in I heard!</p>

<p>Just found out that Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio can not sponsor a page at all which is weird because Bill Nelson has seniority and can have a page.</p>

Pretty disappointing, and suprising because he almost always gets one. Anyone get any good news? Know which senators will be sponsoring? Gillibrand?</p>
<p>I think it is to late to be a page for the summer of 2013…Sorry though ;(. I am trying to apply to the fall 2014 or spring 2015 but I am making a personal list of senators that can sponsor a page during the time I want to go.</p>
