Do grades Spring semester of freshman year matter for fall transfer to UT? I got a 4.00 during the fall, but am taking harder classes this semester and will probably get around a 3.80.
@sp00ky yes they will count since you have less than 30 credits. Either way they would count though. But since you have less than 30, they will not make a decision on you until you submit your spring grades.
Can someone chance me please!
I attend a community college in Texas
Major: COLA Health & Society
Second Choice: COLA Psychology BA
GPA: 3.53
49 hours complete will have 63 by end of spring
3 great essays
4 LORs
I am a Phi Theta Kappa officer, have tons of extra curricular activities and volunteering. I am heavily involved in Phi Theta Kappa.I have tons of EC’s from High School as well. In college I stared a free six week prgram to teach minorities how to swim and prevent drowning. Volunteered with Habitat for Humanity, and recently took a trip with campus leaders to Austin to meet with legislators and state representatives.
Im worried because in the fall semester I recieved a C in Bio 2 and Chem 1. I also dropped one course.
Other than my rough Fall 2016 semester I have recieved all A’s and 1 B.
I am on pace to make all A’s this semester and my GPA will be 3.63 at the end of this semester.
Do I have a chance? Chance me plse.
I’m not sure how competitive that major is cause I’ve never heard of it. Can you share some info on it please? As for you chances, your GPA seems to be fairly competitive for COLA. Do your best this semester and you should be fine to be completely honest.
All the best to you all,

Please chance me!!!
I’m a current sophomore at Colgate University and am trying to transfer to the Communications College at the University of Texas at Austin for next fall. I just want to get a general idea of the chances I have of getting in because I’ve heard answers all across the board from different people. I have good extracurriculars/internships, a good resume that also included a link to my online art portfolio, two great rec letters, challenging coursework, good essays, and an upward grade trend. Even though I go to school out of state, I’m still a Texas resident and am from Texas. My GPA, however, is a 3.2, the only thing that makes me worried since the dean said that they generally look for around a 3.5. Also, I want to be an advertising major and haven’t taken any classes in that field since my school is very traditional liberal arts. I still do have a lot of credits that could transfer to the communications school requisites. Are my chances good? I don’t know if coming from Colgate will help at all.

Hi, please help chance me!!
I’m a current sophomore at Colgate University and am trying to transfer to the Communications College at the University of Texas at Austin for next fall. I just want to get a general idea of the chances I have of getting in because I’ve heard answers all across the board from different people. I have good extracurriculars/internships, a good resume that also included a link to my online art portfolio, two great rec letters (considering trying to get a third), challenging coursework, good essays, and an upward grade trend. I wrote my essays about wanting to study at a union between business and the creative fields (advertising), and went into detail about how I will thrive at UT and be extremely motivated to work as hard as possible when I’m studying something that I’m passionate about, as I can’t study advertising or a similar field at my current school. Even though I go to school out of state, I’m still a Texas resident and am from Texas. My GPA, however, is a 3.2, the only thing that makes me worried since the dean said that they generally look for around a 3.5. I still do have a lot of credits that could transfer to the communications school requisites. I also don’t know if coming from Colgate would help at all since it is hard to get into. Do you think my chances are good?

Got my decision from Texas A&M yesterday! Hopefully we start hearing from UT soon!
is anyone else still working on their applications? I’ve been working on my essays for the past two weeks now, tweaking and having them read by as many people as possible. I just hope applying close to the deadline doesn’t hurt my chances.
I don’t think it will have any effect. I submitted mine a few days ago @TobyDammit
How early do they reject people? Is it possible that they could reject me before I send my great spring semester grades?
@TobyDammit Apply ASAP. It takes time for for EID to come in,to upload docs, submit transcript etc if you wait too close to the deadline.you might not have enough time to turn everything in by deadline
@nerdygirl2100 you only send in transcripts for Fall 2016 for Fall 2017 application. If you get admitted then you’ll send in Spring 2017 transcript once the semester is done.they dont consider Spring grades since those arent posted yet
good luck everyone!
Anyone care to chance me?

Soo can someone chance me
I have a 3.4 GPA first semester coming out of UTSA, wanting to transfer the history department.
I have a ton of AP and Duel Credit courses, however my duel credit courses GPA isnt the best, specifically because of Math.
I also have three letters of recommendation from previous teachers
Do you all think I have a decent shot of getting into the COLA department? I don’t think History is that competitive and i love history
Hey guys, has anyone else had this issue? I turned in my app and all of the materials on Friday and it said my app is complete and good to go. Yesterday, I logged into Mystatus to check if there was any change, and now it says my app is complete except for my transcript indicating that I have 30+ hours. Then it says: Submit your Final, official transcript by June 1. I have 42 hours and just resent my ACC transcript so hopefully that works? Has anyone else had this issue of the app going from complete to needing another transcript?
Maybe your hours were not considered transferable? Google the UT transfer equivalency calculator, and make sure that all your hours are equivocal to hours at UT.
They are all transferrable, I checked a million times because I wanted to make sure I was taking the correct classes. I also have AP credits, which puts me at the 42 hours. I just tried calling and was on hold forever
