I had AP credits too. The only way that they count them into your transferrable hours for admission is if you have the AP hours registered with your current school and on your official transcript. They need to be able to see official documentation of the gained credit hours.
Make sure your current college has them documented on your transcript @adr1697
Yep, those AP credits are on my official transcript and registered with ACC. I’m going to go by admissions office tomorrow and talk to them.
How easy were the pre-reqs for McCombs? I’m assuming you were CAP. Was calculus I, II, micro and macro economics easy? I’m planning on going to UTSA.
I currently attend Texas Tech University and I got CAP last year during my senior year.
-Applying for School of Nursing
-GPA: 4.0
-Major: Nursing
-Second Choice Major: Biology
-Took 14 hours last semester, and 17 hours this semester
-Prereqs: Gen Chem I and Lab, Nutrition, Intro to Psychology, Introduction to Ethics
-This semester I’m taking Anatomy and Physiology I and Lab, Biology I and Lab, Introduction to Art (as my fine arts credit), American Public Policy, and Introduction to American Government.
-I got credit through AP for Statistics, English I, and both US Histories
My first essay I wrote about how going to the Philippines and volunteering at the orphanage there last summer really made me want to become a nurse, and my second essay was a letter to myself about my personal struggles that I overcame to make me who I want to be. I’m currently in 4 extracurricular clubs in college, and I had 2 LORs, one from my Philosophy teacher here at Tech and one from my high school dance director (I was the head officer my Senior year). I had over 100 hours of observing and 100 hours of volunteering my senior year and over the summer.
I’m just really nervous because the School of Nursing is very hard to get into!
This would mean so much if y’all could help!
@damon99 Not that bad at UT Tyler, also i’m not CAP. I would recommend not doing CAP if you plan on transferring into a competitive major. In regards to the pre-reqs, not that difficult. Micro and Macro I thought were extremely easy, and Cal 2 is somewhat rough but if you work hard you will make an A.
@UTMccombs2017 UT TYLER FOR LIFE, SWOOP SWOOP… god I hope I get accepted to Computer Science #secondtimesthetry
@utcswannabe Hey man are you still at UT Tyler? Chances are we have met if you are.
@UTMccombs2017 nah but I was last year, I was in ornelas hall
@utcswannabe Ah I see, currently at Ornelas as well. Well good luck transferring into CS man!
Is transferring in the summer a bad idea? Would I be better off applying for Fall?
@UTransfer why not both, lol?
Hi everyone, I’m currently at PACE for UT this year and hoping to transfer into Computer Science, Entry-Level for next year. Would anyone be willing to read and provide feedbacks on my essays for transfer?
Please do not give your essays to anyone on here, or post them anywhere. People do plagiarize essays from this website often. This is just a warning, of course you can do what you want to.
@nerdygirl2100 thanks, looks like I’ll ask my friends and my teachers
i have two questions. 1) did everyone submitting a resume as well? and also 2) how are you guys uploading transcripts? does yalls university just send the transcript over to UT or do you upload it yourself? im wondering because I go to UH and i believe they only offer sending my transcript directly to UT. that may work, i havent checked yet, im just wondering how it works for yall
Send those transcripts! They MUST be official, so you cannot upload them yourself. AND the deadline is really soon. Your transcripts must reach UT by March 1st to complete your application. Send them priority if necessary. Also, it is required that transfer applicants upload resumes.
@nerdygirl2100 they wrote on their website that they usually extend the time frame for uploading documents to their document upload system? correct me if im wrong
Maybe for uploading the resume, it is extended, although I do not see it anywhere on their admissions website. But, as for the transcript, the admissions website says “Items must arrive in our office by the applicable deadline. When a deadline occurs on a Saturday or Sunday, the ApplyTexas application will remain open until 11:59 p.m. (CDT) the following Monday.”
