The financial aid award letters arrived last year in April.
@MeddlingMotherOY, Financial Aid awards should come in the spring. It is recommended that applicants file the FAFSA by March 1 and our Financial Aid team works hard to put together the packages shortly after.

Okay so I’m very concerned right now because I just got my acceptance letter to Pitt UG but I applied also for the GAP program. I’m seeing on CC that there appear to be other kids who have already started their GAP applications (some as far back as November). I read on Pitt’s website that the invitation from the School of Medicine to apply to GAP would be in early January… I don’t know if this means that I didn’t make the basic requirements to apply to the program, or if I missed something…
Please help!!!
Also, if we don’t end up being invited to apply to GAP, then does that mean that we don’t get a letter at all, or are we still notified that we didn’t make the threshold for applying?
@luciagrande when I went to campus they told me that if we’re going to be invited to apply for GAP the invitation would have come alongside original acceptance letter in the mail. They also do not notify you if you have not been considered for GAP unfortunately.
oh i haven’t received the physical letter in the mail yet… all I got today was the congratulations video. does this mean that there’s still hope for me?
@luciagrande i think someone in this group said that the last date to submit GAP application is 1/31 and they give at least 3 weeks to apply, if you use that calculation then may be the date is gone. However, you can call the admissions office and they will tell you if you are invited or not
Acceptance letter but no email video? We received my daughter’s acceptance letter yesterday, but no video…I asked her to check her email and it’s not there. Anyone else not get the video?
Accepted today!

@hailtopitt1787 thank you for the suggestion, since she’s been getting other emails from Pitt, she hadn’t considered it would be in her spam folder, but there it was! She found a few others in there too. THANKS!
@fixingrocks, Glad she found it and congrats to her!

My application was complete for Pitt on Sept. 9. I received a letter in the mail in the end of November asking me to submit my senior year grades. I submitted them and I am still waiting for a decision to be made. I’m getting extremely anxious and upset about having to wait so long, if I didn’t get accepted I wish that they would just tell me sooner!
@ericasch24, When we ask for more information, it does not imply that you are not going to be admitted. Sometimes in order to make a thorough review, the Admissions Committee determines that they need to see something else before making a final decision. It does not indicate one way or the other what the final admissions decision will be. I know waiting is stressful, but you should hear back soon.
Best of luck,

@luciagrande, Students selected for the Medicine GAP application process will be notified by January 22nd at the latest. We will not send letters to those who were not nominated to apply.
Best of luck,

My daughter was accepted last week and received her e-mail video and acceptance letter, but no information about non need-based institutional merit scholarships awarded. Will this information be coming anytime soon?
@nyc8078, Those who have been selected to receive a scholarship are notified after they receive an admissions letter. The Scholarship Committee meets weekly to review applications. Those who are selected for a scholarship will hear back by March 1 at the latest.

So excited, planning on attending in the fall!
Today from the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid, I received a $40,000 scholarship ($10,000 per year). I have also been guaranteed admission to master’s programs in Pitt Public Health and received a letter about the honors college. Does anyone know if the scholarship I received is the maximum that I am eligible for? I meet the requirements for the Chancellor’s and Stamps Leadership scholarships, but have not been notified about a nomination or invitation to apply. Does this mean I have not been nominated? Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!
@Applicant7, might I ask if you are a person of color? Curious as you mentioned that you received a diversity scholarship.
